My 13 year old daughter had her third shot on 02/16/09. Her first two shots did not seem to be a problem. She said her arm hurt really badly after the shot, and the next day she complained of leg pains she hadn't had before. Within a few days, she had a high fever with body aches like the flu, except it wasn't the flu. She felt better, but a week later she still had a low grade fever. She was tested and had strep throat, and was treated with anti-biotics. A week later she started having stomach cramps and diarrhea. It's now March 18th and she still has diarrhea. I think it's criminal this vaccination is being given to our young women. How on earth could anyone think "possibly" preventing HPV and/or cervical cancer is worth the risk of what my daughter and so many others are having to go through?

I am 25 years old and I have received 2 of the 3 shots.I do not remember when exactly I got the first one but I received my 2nd one in June. The first time my arm was sore for awhile and i remember feeling a little dizzy after the injection but nothing to be worried about my doctors made sure I was ok to drive.I got the second one and had no immediate problems. Now when i received my first one my arm had swelled up but it went away after a few days. After the second one I noticed that my arm stayed swollen a little longer well it has been 6 months since I got my second gardasil shot and I still have a lump in my arm. I was told to do some physical theorpy with a doctor or put a heating pad on it and massage for the next two to three weeks and see if it goes away. My doctor said it shouldn't be this way for this long.i know this is not as severe side effect as some of the other people but I thought I should share it.I did not receive the third shot and i don't think im going to.My doctor told one of the nurses to report it to the company. I would advise anyone who decides to get the gardasil shot to do some research first.

i got my first shot three days ago pretty much without my permission. my ignorant doctor wouldn't listen that i most likely won't be able to get the second shot in the allotted amount of time (2 months) but she insisted that i get the first one anyway. well, three days later and there is blood in my urine. i have every symptom of a urinary tract infection other than the fever, but who knows? that could be next. now my mom is pissed off at me for making her call the doctor when i was just there a few days ago but there is absolutely no reason i should be having blood in my urine or a possible urinary tract infection. i have done nothing out of my ordinary lifestyle everyday since the shot and i have read countless other problems with the Gardasil vaccine lately. i refuse to get the next shot and i will hopefully be going to the doctor today to get some antibiotics.....and if that doesn't clear it up, i'm not sure what to do...... :(

My first Gardasil shot was at the same time as a flu shot and meningitis shot. I almost passed out right after the Gardasil. It was painful. I was fine after about a half an hour and was just sore for a few days. I felt fine and normal after that. I just had my second shot a few days ago and it wasn't as painful, It hurt at first but I was fine after about 10 minutes. I have experienced some sharp headaches that come and go all day. I have fatigue and feel weak. I don't know if it is the Gardasil, but seems to be. My arm is still very sore. I can't hold it up or in one position for too long. They made it seem like such a great thing to get this vaccine, but I'm not so sure anymore. Good Luck!

My daughter is 15 she has always been healthy. After her 3rd Gardasil shot on 10/14/2008 she began having headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness tingleing in her hands and fingers (this happened in the next few days after the shot), tiredness, chest pain, stomach pain, face rash, eye itchiness and hot/cold flashes. I am really upset that I allowed my daughter to get this shot. The doctor says she doesn't feel this is from the shot but there is no other explanation since she had none of these problems before! As a mother I feel terribly guilty for letting her get the shot. I haven't seen anything about how long people are having these side effects. Do the side effects go away in time?

I just recently got my third vac. i had no obvious symptoms with the first 2. Now, only a few days after the first dose. I am so nausea but never to the point of throwing up. not yet at least. Reading the other stories has made me realize that gardisal is the problem. I have blamed all my other symptoms(irregular periods, dizziness, extreme fatigue, severe mood swings) on stress but it was always on the back of my mind that something wasn't right. I feel like i am a constant whiner and i feel like everyone thinks im just doing it for attention. I don't like to made to feel like that. A seriously regret not researching this vaccine. But doctors and nurses are there to help you, i would have never thought not to trust something that they are pushing all young girls to get. I am 19 years old and i feel like I'm going on 60. I don't want to miss out on the what should be the best years of my life. I feel for so many of these young girls and women. To have been enjoying life so much and to becoming a wallflower, never being able to stay out late, drink, party, a family reunion, even to just go shopping. It has made everyday of my life a trial.

I'm 18 years old and live in Florida, while at the gynecologist for a routine visit my doctor strongly suggested that I start the Gardasil 3 shot cycle. After checking with my mom (who was unfortunately given biased information from my doctor without first doing research on the product) agreed since we both figured that my doctor would be knowledgeable enough on the subject (or you would think since she was the one administering the drug.) The first two shots went fine and I had no reaction at all. After the third shot (in October of 2007) I woke up the next morning with swollen hands and extreme swelling at the injection spot. I immediately returned to my gynecologist where I was told “there is no possible way you can be allergic to this medication” by my doctor, and that those reactions would go away in a few days. A few days following this I developed sores in the back of my throat and under my tongue, however my gynecologist still insisted there was no possible way it was an effect of the Gardasil (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE VERY NEXT DAY) & I had no previous illnesses. Within the week following I developed body-wide hives so severe that I cannot sleep and they affect my breathing. I’ve seen several doctors (allergist, dermatologist, primary physicians, and immunologists) none of which can determine why exactly I have these hives, besides that it is a “drug reaction” (it took 11 vials of blood to determine that). However when one of my dermatologists questioned Merck about it they simply said that there is no evidence and I cannot sew!!! That’s all they cared about! A law suit! WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET THIS SHOT, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! It has ruined my life. As an 18 year old girl living in Florida I love to go to the beach however because of these hives they get so severe when I’m exposed to sunlight I can no longer go. It’s also extremely embarrassing when people stare at them since they cover most of my body on a daily basis.

I am a mother of a beautiful 11 year old girl, who was a healthy 10 year old little girl until she got her second Gardasil shot! She received her shot on 1-28-08, and started having nausea shortly after (within a few days). She didn't mention it. Within a few months she started having abdominal pain. She was hospitalized on 4-20-08 with pancreatitis. She got out of the hospital four days later. She was on Morphine while in the hospital and went home with Vicodine. She still had residual abdominal pain for the next few weeks, but the doctor said it was normal. She went to school 2 weeks later and started having severe abdominal pain again. We went to the doctor's office where they found out that her enzymes were elevated again. We then were referred to a gastroenterologist. She has had countless blood test..... negative. She has had an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, many CT scans, fecal tests, and now she will be going in for another endoscopy, but this time she has to take the capsule cam. She was so normal before the shots she was boring, but now she has to miss school on a regular basis ( before she was an honor roll student) and has to miss out on some of the most fun school activities. All the doctors act like she is making it up and they think I'm just some crazy mom that wants to drug my kid. They keep wanting to label her with IBS, but she has no signs of IBS other then the abdominal pain. She now has been on several meds. with no help. She now has joint pain headaches, blurred vision, and she says that she feels weird, with no other way to describe it. I feel like everyone wants to turn the other way rather then to accept that this drug is hurting these girls and focus on treating them.
I know this is tough, tough on the girls and young women that are effected, tough on the parents, and tough on everyone who loves them. Please, just remember that you are not alone! I will fight till I die to try and find out what is wrong with these girls. Just remember that you have options, if you do not want to get your child vaccinated, you can visit ****** and there you can find out what legal rights you have to not vaccinate your children if you don't want to. They have the forms that you need and you can download them there.
I am so sorry for all of you that have been effected by this drug! You will all be in my thoughts and prayers, as always. Just please, spread the word, the more we talk, the more that don't have to be hurt like this. Thank you all so much for sharing your stories! They help more then you know!!!!!!

My daughter went for her yearly physical with our pediatrician. That morning we went in and the doctor insisted that she get immunized. Of course that immunization was Gardasil. My daughter felt fine and she was okay that day. After the doctors appointment she went on to school, and I went on to work to complete what I thought was to be a normal day. That afternoon I picked her up from school and she told me that she thought she may be getting sick. She complained of a stomach ache, and a mild headache. We went home and she ate very little, but told me and her dad that she felt better.
That evening she was to cheer at her first football game of the season in a neighboring town. She left with her best friend and her mother around 6 pm. at 8:44 that night her best friends mom called and told us that she had passed out at the game.
By the time that we had gotten there EMT's had taken her to the local ER, at that time she had barely regained consciousness, and her temperature was 103 degrees. Her extremities were cold, and her body was burning up. Her breathing was shallow, fast and irradic. Her pulse and blood pressure was extremely high. About an hour later the convulsions started.
After what seemed like eternity, the physician narrowed this down to the side effects of Gardasil. They started IV fluids, and meds, but still to no avail she kept convulsing. After a few days of heavily sedated sleep, she awoke to blurred vision, fever and nausea.
We were not told of any adverse reactions to this drug or we would have never given it to her!

I'm having the same issues with my doctor not believing me that its the Gardasil. I am a very healthy person, but a few days after receiving the shot I started with these symptoms:
- severe nausea
- severe dizziness
- hot and cold flashes
- stomach problems
- feel faint & weak
I went to my doctor and she said I was having panic attacks! Why would I still feel sick for days at a time if it was panic attacks. I'm still feeling sick now and its been just over two weeks since I got the 1st shot. Does anyone know how long it stays in the body?

I'm a 15 year old girl who has been having periods regularly for the past three years. A few months ago, I went into the doctor to get my first Gardasil shot. I was due to get my period a few days after that. And now, I am due to go back for my next Gardasil shot in about a week..It has been four months sense I had a period. My mother has decided to make an appointment for me to find out why my menstrual cycle has suddenly disappeared. We think it may have something to do with the Gardasil shot, but the nurse we talked to on the phone said that this was unlikely, and I should come to the doctor to find out the cause of my mysterious missing menstrual immediately.
I beg you not to get these shots yourself, nor force them upon your children. I'm not sure whether to hope that it is Gardasil that is causing me these problems, or that it isn't. All I'm sure of is that I'm not taking the risk with the next two shots.
I'm desperate for answers and something to fix my problem.

I received my first shot of Gardasil in January 2007. It could have started sooner, but about a month later my hairdresser noticed a bald spot in the back of my head. I rushed back to my ObGyn and asked her if the Gardasil could be the cause as nothing else had recently changed. She said that she had not heard of this, but she referred me to a dermatologist. I asked him if my hair loss had anything to do with the Gardasil. He replied that I had Alopecia areata and one thing had nothing to do with the other. He advised that I continue with the Gardasil and that he would start treating me for the alopecia. I wish that I would not have listened. I don't know what would have happened if I had stopped then, but I didn't I proceeded with the treatment to the end now over half of my head is bald!!!
I don't know what to do. I keep going back to the dermatologist for treatments for the alopecia, but it just keeps getting worse.
If anyone has had a similar experience and would like to share or has found some other treatments that work, please post a reply.

With my first Gardasil vaccination I had a good deal of pain, comparative to a Tetnus shot. It lasted almost a few weeks before the area wasn't sore. The second round hurt much less but I also had a fever with aches, pains and chills. This lasted a day or so. The third shot was sore for a few days and left a good size lump in my arm around the injection site for a few weeks.

My 14 year old daughter received her fist Gardasil shot in Sept/Oct 08. Soon after she started losing her hair and thinning. Now it is coming out in handfuls. She is so upset and I believe that she is becoming depressed due to the emotional heartache. She has not received any more shots. Anyone who reads this don't give this to your daughter.!
