My daughter just turned 19 years old yesterday. She is a Christian and has kept herself pure and plans to until marriage. She attends a Christian University. She had her last gardisil shot in May. Since this shot she has been complaining of severe fatigue, dizziness and has had no menstrual cycle. My first thoughts were concerns that this was caused by the gardisil shot. She just saw a doctor at her University last week. All the test run were negative and the doctor wants to further test for osteoporosis and place her on birth control pills to regulate her periods. She does not want this. The doctor did not perform a pap smere due to her being a virgin.I have contacted our local doctor and was informed that there was no way to tell if any of her symptoms could be side affects of the gardisil shots she received. My husband decided to investigate the side affects of gardisil and came upon this web-site. I am just wandering if this should be legally investigated and how could someone find out if there are legal ratifications for this problem. I am just praying that these are temporary symptoms and my daughter will recover and be able to have a children after marriage. Please pray with me and I will for each of you as well.

My daughter has periods of not being able to eat. She feels as if she can't swallow the food. She has terrible time breathing. She had to go to the doctor three times in one week because she couldn't breath. Within an hour of her last visit she had her first Grand Mal Siezure. After her last shot she had another seizure within the week.

She continues to complain that she just wants to feel better. Other symptoms include no energy, lethargy, rash, vertigo, aggression, irritability.

My daughter is 21 and full of life, active, and athletic. Since her second Gardasil shot this past June 2009 she has passed out 9 times. The doctors call in neurocardiogenic syncope. It is where the brain and the heart are not communicating. They say they don't know why this happens and what kind of a life style change have you made. Hummm well got the shots, but no one has put two and two together wonder why? I just hope that this nightmare stops soon before it poisons more girls like mine. LOUISE366

I am 21 years old and had my third shot last December. Since then I have been suffering from dizzy spells, bad anxiety and irregular periods. I am not completely sure that all these are because of my shot, but i really wish i had never had that last dose. My anxiety has been absolutely horrible, and lasts for days or weeks on end. My last few periods lasted for several weeks, and there seems to be no other explanation for the way i have been feeling since the end of last year. My friend works at a local hospital in cancer cell research, and amongst some of the papers she has read she has told me over 1000 girls have appeared with psychotic symptoms for no apparent reason, all after having gardasil. I hope we can all do something about this and get the word out, because i know it is affecting so many people in such a horrible way.

My daughter had her 2nd shot in August, 2008, she started having problems November 10, 2008.Since then, she passes out at least 5 to 6 times a month, she has Bradycardia, arythmias, vagal vasal syncope, and Heart Block. She has been in and out of hospitals. The only answer to fix this is a Pace Maker. Shes 18 years old, cannot drive, go onto college (at this time). She could not even go to her graduation ceremony because she was passed out in the bathroom and wouldn't wake up. I cannot find one doctor to connect this to Gardasil, I wonder why it cannot be traced back to the shot. I would love to voice my opinion to the public about her experience since this shot. Out of all the doctors that see her, not a single one can explain why this is happening to her heart, they say she is a difficult but interesting case.

I am so grateful to have found this site and to everyone who has posted. My 20-yr-old daughter received her first dose in Feb. 09. About a week later she began feeling extremely fatigued and weak. She was diagnosed with mono even though the mono test came back negative. She recovered from the fatigue and weakness prior to the 2nd shot in late April/early May. Soon after that she began complaining of hair loss. She was diagnosed with alopecia areata and our doctor put her on a different oral birth control pill. Her hair loss has continued, she has a fairly large bald spot on the back of her head just below the crown and her hair is very thin all over, especially just above her forehead. She will NOT be having the 3rd shot. She is starting to get some regrowth just above her forehead, regrowth on the bald spot on the back of her head is much slower. The hardest part is not knowing if or when her hair will regrow. I had not considered Gardisil as a potential cause for this until after I watched the ABC News story on Aug. 18, 09. I hope that all of you girls and young women will fully recover from your symptoms, and thanks to all who have posted here. Sincerely, B. C, Tualatin, OR

My 16 year old daughter has been injured by Gardasil. She was a
healthy, active teenage girl before Gardasil was pushed on us at a
routine doctor visit. After receiving 2 of the 3 shots, my daughter has
experienced severe overall weakness, numbness/tingling in both legs and
left arm, chest pains, racing heart, pressure in head, vision problems,
back pain, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, weight loss, dizziness, just
to name a few. She has been in the ER twice, once by ambulance for
stopping breathing 3 times. She's seen several doctors. She's had a CT
scan done. All tests come back normal (which is typical with all of the
injured 'gardasil girls'). Her blood panel showed high on
immunoglobulin E (131H) and Anti-streptolysin O (208H) which the doctor
'thought' was Rheumatic Fever. Another doctor has said he did not
believe she had Rheumatic Fever.

My daughter received her first shot on 6/20/2007 when she was 14 years old and second shot on 12/27/2007. During this time frame she complained of having headaches daily. On 1/8/2008 my daughter had a seizure. She had been a healthy, dancer and scholastic student. Since her shot she has had a total of 12 seizures and has been in and out of hospitals numerous times. She was diagnosed with epilepsy in March of 2008. She has been on Topamax, Keppra, Lamictal and Zonegran and continues to have seizures. The side effects from the medications that my daughter has suffered with along with depression has been tremendous.
We thought we were protecting our daughter and found that we have only hurt her. The doctors need to stop pushing the shot and it needs to be taken off the market. Because of this shot she has to be dependent on more drugs. She has missed so much school, which were important years (freshman & sophmore) that she will never get back. How many more girls need to suffer!

I am 20 and had all 3 of the shots. I was going into my freshman year of college, and in September became very sick. I refused a blood test because I hate needles. By November I could barely walk on my own. The hospitals kept giving me medicine for bacterial infection, but it just kept getting worse. My fever stayed at 103 before I went back to the ER. A blood test concluded I had mono. Just figured I got this from being a freshman partier. During this time I also had an abnormal pap smear for the first time. My mom did research and found other girls who had cases of mono after the 3rd shot too. Very, very rare. Now I have to go to the gyno every 6 months because they found pre-cancerous cells. I also failed my first semester of college because I was so sick. This is all thanks to the Gardisal shot. I do NOT recommend. It should be taken off the market now!

My 13 year old daughter had her third shot on 02/16/09. Her first two shots did not seem to be a problem. She said her arm hurt really badly after the shot, and the next day she complained of leg pains she hadn't had before. Within a few days, she had a high fever with body aches like the flu, except it wasn't the flu. She felt better, but a week later she still had a low grade fever. She was tested and had strep throat, and was treated with anti-biotics. A week later she started having stomach cramps and diarrhea. It's now March 18th and she still has diarrhea. I think it's criminal this vaccination is being given to our young women. How on earth could anyone think "possibly" preventing HPV and/or cervical cancer is worth the risk of what my daughter and so many others are having to go through?

My 13yr old niece has always been a healthy, active and straight A student. Then on 11/5/08 during a routine physical, she received her 1st dose of Gardasil. On 11/28/08 she started to complain that she felt weak and had a headache. Since it was 2 days after Thanksgiving we thought that she was tired from all the holiday activities. On 11/29/08 she had a headache and stayed in bed all day. She got up that afternoon & had 2 seizures. She was rushed to the ER.
As of today, March 8, 2009 she is still in the hospital in Intensive Care Unit. She has been in critical condition since. Within 2 days after her seizure, she lost the ability to eat, speak, walk and communicate in anyway. She is completely unresponsive. She is on the ventilator, she is basically in a coma. We do know she has an viral infection with a shadow on the left side of her brain. All of the testing that has been done all show negative for any illness or diseases.
We are still unsure if she will come out of this. This has been completely devastating to our family.
We have no answers from doctors. Even though we know in our hearts that this was a side effects from Gardasil. I don't know if they will ever fully admit it.
We are left to watch and wait. That is what the doctors tell us daily..

My 12 yr. old daughter had her first gardasil shot last summer and her 3rd in January. She has been complaining of headaches, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, confusion, as she put it 'she felt like an alien'. I just figured it was preteen/body change/that time of the month stuff and thought it would pass. She only complained of headaches a few times after the first shot, didn't even think of them being from the shot but then more after the 2nd shot, still didn't make a connection, and now it's an every day thing. This morning again the headache/nausea/stomach pain, crying from the pain and Tylenol isn't helping. I got her to go to school but after 2 hours had to go pick her up. She said it was worse. We will be back at the doctors for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. With the possibility of this being from the gardasil, I wish I had never gotten the shots. The not knowing, is this from the gardasil? will it pass? get worse? and what she is going through. No it's not worth it

When my daughter was 15 her dr suggested she get the vaccine. Trusting the doctors advice, i ok'd it. The first two injections were fine. Immediately after receiving her 3rd, her arm, neck, and shoulder got really sore and then about two weeks later she developed severe pain in her upper abdomen causing her to pass out. That was on November 22, 2007 and she hasn't been the same since. She has suffered severe pain, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, IBS, anxiety attacks and depression brought on by the sickness. Our life for the past year has consisted of going to doctor after doctor trying to figure out what is wrong with her. She has been diagnosed with mono, UTI's, had her gal bladder removed, etc. Funny, they diagnose her with all these things but no treatments have worked. She went from being a very beautiful, active 15 year old girl with lots of friends and activities to barely being able to get out of bed in the morning. My question is, does anybody know how to help or what to do ?

A good friend of mine, a person I have known for 30 years, told me yesterday that her son's girlfriend, a college student, had surgery over the Christmas break for cervical cancer. This is her second surgery, and both surgeries were paid for by the manufacturer of Guardasil. By paying for these surgeries, it seems clear that the company is accepting responsibility for what happened to her. Apparently, because this girl had a weak immune system, Guardasil actually caused the very thing it was intended to prevent--cervical cancer.

Neither my friend nor I had never heard anything like this before, and I am wondering if others know or know of girls who have actually gotten cervical cancer after receiving Guardasil.

I'm 18 and a freshman in college. I received my second Gardisil shot a month ago. Within the past three weeks I have been experiencing awful headaches every night, extreme tiredness and diarrhea. I have also been extremely emotional lately.

My sister who is 15 in high school has also received the Gardisil shot. However, after passing out upon receiving the shot and due to difficulty breathing, my Mom did not allow her to get the second shot. My sister has been in and out of the doctors office and emergency room several times due to what doctors believe was a pulled muscle or inflamed chest cavity.

However, after reading the similar side effects that other girls have been experiencing, I am sure that both of our side effects are due to the Gardisil shot.

Oh my goodness.....my daughter, age 17, had her first injection in June 2008, started losing her hair w/in a month. We thought it was form straightening, some high lightening etc. She had blood work done which showed she was anemic...strange, as 2yrs prior her blood work was stellar, and she had not changed her diet, or physical activity. She increased her iron and protein intake (along w/ supplements).....three months later, and after her second injection, iron was still anemic....worse actually, and her hair loss significant.I found this website last night....and I am floored......I called MERCK today and spoke to a representative wh o was not aware of the hair loss issue, but said that in their case studies, Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia was a side effect.....which leads to hair loss itself.....so I am researching now what to do next.....anyone else have this issue??????

i am almost 18 and i got my first shot of gardasil last month, and the day after i got it, i started my period and it was 5 days early and i felt nautious an tired. my period isn't always the same exact day every month, but it's never that far off. I started the 30th of august, and i didn't get my next period until September 8, which was extremely late for me. I was scared i may have been pregnant or whatnot, but i didn't think it was possible. i just prayed and prayed untfor me to start and i finally did. I got my 2nd shot today, and not even 5 minutes after it i felt nautious and dizzy. Ive gotten many shots before and needles don't bother me but the pain after my shot made me want to cry. The nurse told me that it was uncomfortable because the liquid was cold an thats why it hurt. i couldn't move my arm for about 10 minutes after the shot. Now i feel tired, my body aches, my head hurts, and my chest hurts. Im going to tell my mom to take me to the doctor tomorrow because im scared the shot may have caused something to make me sick. I'm re-thinking getting my 3rd shot. If you're deciding whether or not to get this Gardasil shot, I would wait until further research is done on it. If i would have known all the effects girls are having i wouldn't have gotten it.

I'm 18 years old and live in Florida, while at the gynecologist for a routine visit my doctor strongly suggested that I start the Gardasil 3 shot cycle. After checking with my mom (who was unfortunately given biased information from my doctor without first doing research on the product) agreed since we both figured that my doctor would be knowledgeable enough on the subject (or you would think since she was the one administering the drug.) The first two shots went fine and I had no reaction at all. After the third shot (in October of 2007) I woke up the next morning with swollen hands and extreme swelling at the injection spot. I immediately returned to my gynecologist where I was told “there is no possible way you can be allergic to this medication” by my doctor, and that those reactions would go away in a few days. A few days following this I developed sores in the back of my throat and under my tongue, however my gynecologist still insisted there was no possible way it was an effect of the Gardasil (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE VERY NEXT DAY) & I had no previous illnesses. Within the week following I developed body-wide hives so severe that I cannot sleep and they affect my breathing. I’ve seen several doctors (allergist, dermatologist, primary physicians, and immunologists) none of which can determine why exactly I have these hives, besides that it is a “drug reaction” (it took 11 vials of blood to determine that). However when one of my dermatologists questioned Merck about it they simply said that there is no evidence and I cannot sew!!! That’s all they cared about! A law suit! WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET THIS SHOT, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! It has ruined my life. As an 18 year old girl living in Florida I love to go to the beach however because of these hives they get so severe when I’m exposed to sunlight I can no longer go. It’s also extremely embarrassing when people stare at them since they cover most of my body on a daily basis.

Hi, my name is Hannah and I am a senior in college. At the age of 19, I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I was a sophmore in college at the time, had a job, and was a completely HEALTHY girl. I have been living with the disease for two year now, and my doctors still can't come up with the cause for my seizures. Recently my sister called me to ask if I had received the gardasil shot, because on CNN talk radio that people were starting to think that the garasil shot might be linked to paralysis, seizures, and even death. I immediately called my OBGYN to ask the dates in which I had received my shots. My first dose was given on Oct.17, 2006. I had my first set of seizures on Nov. 24, 2006. WOW...I was in shock. I feel like I now have an answer for the cause of my illness. I talked to my Neurologist about this and he said we will have to wait until more research is done. I am convinced that Gardasil was the reason for my epilepsy. I am so sad to think that other girls are going in to receive a vaccine that is suppose to help their lives, and instead they could have crippling side effects that never go away. I can no longer drive, I had to choose between school and a job, and now I have to plan my day around taking my medicine. All because a drug company wanted to make some money before their completely researched their product.

I received my first shot of Gardasil in January 2007. It could have started sooner, but about a month later my hairdresser noticed a bald spot in the back of my head. I rushed back to my ObGyn and asked her if the Gardasil could be the cause as nothing else had recently changed. She said that she had not heard of this, but she referred me to a dermatologist. I asked him if my hair loss had anything to do with the Gardasil. He replied that I had Alopecia areata and one thing had nothing to do with the other. He advised that I continue with the Gardasil and that he would start treating me for the alopecia. I wish that I would not have listened. I don't know what would have happened if I had stopped then, but I didn't I proceeded with the treatment to the end now over half of my head is bald!!!
I don't know what to do. I keep going back to the dermatologist for treatments for the alopecia, but it just keeps getting worse.
If anyone has had a similar experience and would like to share or has found some other treatments that work, please post a reply.

My Daughter has been ill since Feb 4, 2008. Here are her symptoms. Rash on head neck and chest, low grade fever, almost daily vomitting, nauseau, low grade fever, kidney issues, severe abdominal and lower back pain. All tests have been negative, hospitalized twice.

I sent just a local email out to a few contacts talking about the symptoms, girls in our community Papillion, NE are suffering from similar side effects. How can we stop this from hurting other children?
