I was prescribed guaifen for fluid in my ears. After the 1st day I stopped taking it at night because I could not sleep. It has been an answer to prayer for me though, because I have lost 20 pounds so far. I am going to try to cut back though because of the risk of stroke (bleeding in the brain) that I have read about here. After I lose 10 more pounds I will stop taking it altogether. It works as a decongestant too. I have felt fine since starting it 2 months ago.

This medication:
made mouth and nose really dry (which I guess it is suppose to do considering it is a decongestant)
made me lose my appitite. I don't really want to eat anything.

Been taking Guaifen(1 pill twice a day) for 2 days. First night I woke up at 2 and never went back to sleep. Last night I never fell asleep. Works great as a decongestant, but give me congestion any day of the week. Got up last night and my whole body was shivering with my heart racing. This cannot be good for you.
