i have been taking zoloft,and bontril for my diet.i have broncitus and my doctor is haveing me take hycotuss for my cough.i feel very hyper.not tired i feel like my heart is going to fast. why am i feeling this way? is it because of the other meds?

My doctor prescribed Hycotuss for a bad cough. He said it would for sure "knock me out" so that I could finally sleep. Instead, I am up all night with racing thoughts. Why would he not warned me of possible paradoxical effects? I need sleep badly because of coughing when I lay down.
