I wish I could say that my symptoms are something new but they're not. I can only thank God that I found this site and finally feel like I'm not totally crazy! I received a cortisone shot (kenalog and Lidocaine) on June 15th. June 17th I started experiencing tingling down my arms, across my shoulders, serious heartburn, change in tastebuds (sour tasting all the time), which progressed with a sudden case of high blood pressure. My period also came a week late and has not left yet but only taken short vacations (3-5 days of light to no bleeding, followed by a regular flow with some gushes all over again). Two weeks ago I started having a tight sensation in my jaw and cheek with sensitivity right under my ears. I've had periods of dizziness, severe migraines as well as heart palpitations (fluttering in my throat). Added to this is swelling down one side at any given time, changing back and forth with no reasoning. I had severe gastritis and GERP as a result as well.
I too was living a healthy life and regret the moment I agreed to that shot. Does anyone know how long these side effects last? Who do you see to deal with them? Are they mimics of real situations (do heart palpitations turn into heart attacks? gastritis turn into ulcers?)

I wish I could turn back time and Not get that damn kenalog shot. Since August 2006 I have gone through dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, blood sugar imbalance, pitts in some areas the shots were given, 10 pound weight loss in one week, flushed skin, anxiety especially throughout the night when sleeping, poison feeling, hot and painful hands and cold feet, terrible taste in mouth. I have seen numerous doctors in one month. I have been in the hospital twice. I was told to see a therapist since my tests showed negative.
Finally, I found a wonderful doctor who performs muscle tests (shows what vitamin your deficient in and fixes the problem with supplements) She has improved my condition greatly. I believe I would be living handicapped without her or maybe would not even be living the way my body started to shut down. I could not work and dropped out of nursing school (I had a scholarship). I will pass her number on if anyone is interested Dr.******

I received shots into the bald spots in my scalp (very low doeses) due to alopecia areata. Immediately upon reciving the shots, perhaps 15 of them in all. I immediately felt slightly nauseous and became very pale and felt chilled and very drowsy. This sickish feeling lasted a few days but was felt most intensly the first day or two. The second time I had the shots, this time perhaps only 10 shots, I became very very dizzy, saw spots in front of my eyes and again became very pale and felt chilled and drowsy. The dizziness lasted about 3 hours and was scary. The sick feeling lasted a day or two or so again, getting better slowly. I have had periodic shots into acne with no ill effects other than at times an indentation which reversed itself in 6 months or so. The good news is that follwing the kenalog injections my hair began to grow back in about 2 weeks. Unfortunately due to my reaction the doctor will not give me the shots again. Has anyone ev er had these reactions?

I've had Fibromyalgia for a long time. The #1 thing, is to have a positive attitude. Get info. about this disease. Get moving. Start out slowly. Do what you are able to do, nothing more and nothing less. I know its hard to keep moving. But if u dont, ur stuck with no life. I've been down this road too. Get some physical therapy. I have found, for me, that pool therapy is the best. I dont have as much gravity to deal with in a swimming pool. The water seems to hold u up. Get involved in som...

by rose81, 2 replies, updated about 15 hours ago.I was given the fantastic news that my body doesn't like itself anymore. I don't know when it had a falling out, but all I can say is the course of action to remedy this disease is CRAZY. Taking meds that have more side effects and the restrictions on my daily life, because of the meds, no driving, no salt, no sugar, and little fat in my diet, very little sun. Bathing in skin moisturizer, moodiness, mental confusion, can't work, but expected to continue cooking for family, and cleaning. Which I guess ...

He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?

I just got an injection yesterday in my shoulder. The injection had the following in it: 1ml of 40mg per milliliter of kenalog solution along with 1ml of 1% lidocaine solution without epinephrine and 1ml of .5% marcaine solution.
Here is what happened after the injection... Within 30 minutes I was experiencing nausea and a headache on the left side of my head, behind my eye, and to the outer side of the eye. Within an hour I had pain radiating throughout my entire body! It has not been almost 24 hours and I am still in pain. My head is splitting, I'm still experiencing nausea, and the pain is all over in my bones and joints, and my hips hurt really bad. I'm also experiencing a terrible dizziness, and light headed feeling, and confussion.
Here is the real kicker... I have severe drug and food allergies! There is virtually NOTHING I can take without having a reaction. I can only eat fish, fruits, and veggies, otherwise I get very sick, and have severe stomach cramps to a point I cannot even stand or walk! My doctor knows all of this, and he still told me this was perfectly safe, never been a reaction, and I would be okay. Only problem that may arise is infection, but that is extreamly rare!
Does anyone here have any idea what is happening to my body, and how long it might last?
