My daughter had a kenalog shot for itching on May 2009. The doctor never mentioned any side effects to her. Now she has a huge indentation in her left buttock. She is only 18 yrs old and she is scare and afflicted because the dent is getting larger and disfiguring that part of her body. I read enough complains. There must be an action lawsuit against the company distributing, selling and benefiting from this drug. Some doctors also should be liable for neglecting to release the accurate potential damage (as it is known) cause by this drug. It is causing mental pain and anguish due to the disfigurement that it leaves and also constant concern about the growing destruction of the muscle cells.Enough damage have been done. Who will pay to correct the damage? ******

I URGE YOU TO PLEASE SUBMIT ANY ADVERSE EVENTS OF THIS TERRIBLE KENALOG DRUG TO THE FDA--JUST CLICK THIS LINK AND COMPLETE THE FORM: http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/. The FDA is responsible for assuring safety of medications. Therefore, it is imperative that the FDA recognize the adverse effects to provide any credibility to a class action suit. Please consider forwarding your case to the FDA to force them into action and begin addressing these atrocities.
Here's my case: I am also a victim of having the Kenalog injection administered over a year ago to alleviate poison ivy itching symptoms. Prior to having the injection, I was not informed of any side effects. Not only did the injection not alleviate the symptoms, but has resulted in a discolored and uncomfortable indentation in my left buttock area and psychological anguish because of disfigurement of my body. It is over a year later and the indent remains and continues to cause discomfort. The dermatologist who administered the injection stated that there was nothing I could do to reverse such effects. I reported my case to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Med Watch and strongly urge others to report their adverse event to the FDA (see link above).

I have contacted an attorney in Delaware who is willing to pursue a possible class action suit. I explained my side effects from this drug and told him of the countless others that are suffering as well. He said if I was willing to do the "legwork" and gather up names of others who would like to join this suit, perhaps we could get a class action started. If anyone is interested please reply by contacting me at ***** Please be sure to type "Kenalog" as the subject and include your name, email address, and a description of your experience with Kenalog. I will than gather your responses and forward them to the attorney. He will than contact you individually, so please include a contact number. This will take some time. So please be patient, as you know these cases take time. I have spent 15 months trying to get some kind of help from various doctors, to no avail. Someone needs to step up and take responsibility.
Hope to hear from many of you. Thank You

I had two shots of Kenalog 80mg. three months apart for a sinus infection. Both shots were in the upper left buttocks, lower back.I have a huge disfiguring crater where the shots were given.I have noticed it has worsened over time, and wonder if its still growing.I received the first one 2/18/07.I want my tissue back, and cosmetic surgery will cost $4000.00.I'm a young mother living pay day to pay day.I prey that someone will start a class action suit so I/we are able to feel comfortable in my/our skin again.

I was given two Kenalog injections during the month of January 2008. My skin had been breaking out in eczema patches all over my body due to a side effect of a sinus infection that I had. My dermatologist gave me two rounds of Kenalog, two weeks apart from each other. The injections immediately cleared up the break outs I was having. Ever since the second shot, I have experienced irregular periods ( My menstrual cycle has always been very regular). The first cycle lasting 15days, which made me nervous. I went to my regular doctor and she said it was probably a side effect of the antibiotic I was given.
My menstrual cycle has been highly irregular. The month of February my cycle ran for 10 days, then stopped for three, started again for another 10days. And now rotates almost every other day. Along with the irregular periods I experience headaches on a regular basis, nausea, anxiety, and I am often feeling lethargic due to the fact that I am probably experiencing low iron.
I was never told the side effects, so I was feeling nervous until I found this website.

I had a Kenalog injection just over a month ago for a sinus infection by an urgent care doctor. The next day I was having panic attacks out the wa-zoo! I felt flush and "spacey" all day. I nearly went to the ER that night. On the following evening I could not take the panic, emotional distress, and the flushed hot feeling anymore. I went back to urgent care. The doc there said it could be a slight side effect of the Kenalog and should go away soon. Well it didn't. a week later, I went to see my regular internist. I was so wigged out, that he suggested Prozac. I didn't take it. All i was trying to get him to understand was I wasn't like this before shot. So....anyway. the paranoia/panic attacks are not as bad now, the spacey feeling is getting a little better. But now I am so afraid to go anywhere alone. I might mention I lost my husband 10mths ago so this isn't helping at all...having to deal with this, too. Oh well....I just I'll just ride it out, huh? How long does this stuff take to get out of your system!! I wish to God I had never went to that urgent care.

If you are a woman or have a daughter PLEASE READ.......
Please be very careful before getting a Kenalog injection especially if you are a woman or for your daughter. In March my 13 year old daughter received one Kenalog injection for hay fever. Now almost 4 MONTHS later it is a 2 inch indentation with dark bruising all around it. She has also had her period the entire time with maybe a 1-2 day break between them. It has taken this long for the doctors to say the bleeding is from the Kenalog injection. I never would have allowed them to give this to her if I had known of these side effects. She has been put through test after test and no end in site. Now my 13 year old will have to go on birth control to stop the bleeding and there will prob. be side effects from that as well. I was shocked to find this site and now how many lives this drug is hurting. Now my daughter is suffering, all from 1 SHOT.

It has been seven months since I had a one time Kenalog injection for a Sinus Infection. The constant Menstrl bleeding which was non-stop for the first two months when to three periods a month, then two and now back to normal. The leg cramps have slowed down as well as the headaches(I think they were from the menstrl irregularities, hormonal) I still have a dent in my left hip at the site of the injection. My doctor said the indent was from the shot and said that it shouln't have happened after one shot. He sent me for all kinds of tests for the bleeding and they came back negative for everything. I recently went back to the doctors office for something minor and asked the nurse practioner about the side effects that I had and she said that they can most certainly come from that Kenalog Injection. Bristol Myers also confirmed that all the side effects that I had are listed on their insert for the drug. I wish I had known this. I wonder what else will creep up? This drug seems to cause extreme hormonal reactions in some people. I am not a complainer and hardly ever go to the doctors. This is just so wrong! I was specifically told that there were no side effects with this shot when it was administered. I wish something could be done about this.

I had a Kenalog shot for the first time at the end of october for sinus infection. My menstrual cycle for November lasted 20 days and now for december it is the same thing. I have bleeding for 4-5 days and then it stops for a day or two and then comes back full force for another 4-5 days it seems like I had three full cycles this month? My doctor says that it is not from the shot but for over 25 years it was regular 28-30 days? What is going on and when will this stop?

I had kenelog shots for sinus infection related to asthma for a period of about 10 yrs-3 to 4 times per year. It worked almost instantly and the only side effect I noticed was an increase in appetite. I gained about 15 lbs in this time. The benefits far outweighed the drawbacks to me.

I went to see my doctor for a sinus infection, and along with prescribed oral antibiotics, he gave me a low dose shot of Kenalog. About three weeks later, I noticed an inch-size white dent in my arm where the shot was given. It is not painful, but looks terrible. I didn't know what it was; I thought I had skin cancer. I remembered the shot and asked my husband, an athlete, and he said he'd heard about it. I Google'd it, and found this site. Nice to know I am not alone! I am going to call my doctor about it. I won't be happy if this lasts forever in such an obvious area.

I have not been able to breathe through my nose for about a year or year and a half. I have tried all of the prescription allergy medications, nasal sprays, etc. None have even remotely worked. Two and a half months ago I ended up with a sinus infection that Augmentin did not help, so I received my first Kenalog shot with a second dose of Augmentin. It was amazing! I could actually breathe through my nose and smell again. It lasted about two months perfectly, until my allergies came back and I ended up with another sinus infection. Today I had my second Kenalog shot and I hope it works as well as the first time. But now I am reading about all of the side effects and wondered if anyone has tried anything else that doesn't involve Kenalog for their allergies.

I have had no side affects with kenalog. I have had about 2 shots a year with no fat atrophy at all. I have suffered from hayfever for 20 years and for the past 4 years I have not had one sinus infection, and have been able to enjoy my fall/footbal season. I am sorry that it doesn't work well for others.

I received a Kenalog shot for a sinus infection on January 14 of this year (2005). The amount of Kenalog was to give me inflammation relief in my sinuses for 6 months. A week later, I received a Decadron (sp?) shot - fast acting steroid for a sever sinus headache.
Since this time, I had allergy testing and found out the culprit to my sinus problems (molds, dust mites, some grasses & trees, ragweed). I have started allergy shots.
But, since I have had the Kenalog & other injections, I have had five heavy menstrual periods in the past 2 months. If I don't keep something in my stomach at all times, it feels as if the bottom falls out. I get really weak. My sugar levels tested fine. I have never experienced this prior to the kenalog. I am now somewhat depressed and get anxious. I also get tingling on the top & back of my head. MRI & CT Scan showed nothing... again, this never happened before the Kenalog & other steroid injections. My TSH thyroid level also came back as being slightly elevated. Again, was normal before injections.
This has been terrible. I would never recommend steroid injections to anyone. I just pray my body gets back to normal in time. But, since it was a six month injection, I just hope it doesn't take that long!

I went to my usual Urgent Care Physician about 10 months ago for a sinus infection and bronchitis and he said he was going to give me 2 shots in each hip, never bothered to tell me what they were or the possible side effects. I assumed it was penicillin or something like it. After the huge dent in my left hip appeared a month later, I knew it had to be from that shot. I called the doctor's office and asked what it was. It was Kenalog. I am sick over this and want to know if it will ever go away. I recently bumped into a car mirror on this dent site and now 9 days later it is as black and purple as can be about 8 inches around and shows no signs of going away. Is there anything that can be done?

I have just has my fourth kenalog injection for hayfever, my doctor was not too happy about perscribing it to me, and even when I went in to see the nurse, she kept asking if I was sure I wanted it. I had not seen this site then, if I had i might not of been as keen, although I have had four and no side effects, it is the only thing that works for my hayfever. Only problem that may or may not be related is a bad sinus infection after flying. I would recommend it!

I'm so glad I found this website - thanks to all of you who have shared. I had a Kenalog injection in May 09 and about a couple of months ago noticed an indentation in the side of my leg. I had it given in my leg instead of buttocks due to other health issues currently going on. It is sore sometimes and hurts sometimes when I bend down or exercise. I also had abnormal periods for several months and didn't realize that it was related to the injection. I had a sinus infection/ear infection and had to get on a plane to go out of the country the next day, otherwise I would have never done this. No one mentioned (or I think knew) anything about the possible muscle/skin side effects. Does anyone know about a class action suit regarding this? I've already made a report with the FDA. I am working with a dr that is doing soft tissue work on it weekly, this does seem to be helping, the indentation decreases quite a bit, but it the indentation increases if I don't have the soft tissue work. I'm hoping I won't have to have plastic surgery to fix this, but looks like I will looking at all the other postings. Does anyone know of a class action law suit regarding this? I tried the person listed in Delaware's e-mail listed on the posting, but it wouldn't go thru.
