Please read his entire post in its entirety.
I spent 15 years on Klonopin. Initially I was placed on this medications for the side effects of Prozac, but it worked so well (initially) at curbing my panic attacks that I remained on it. It was a godsend for many years. My maximum dose was 1 mg twice daily (toward the end).
Several times I was able to discontinue this medication on my own with no problems, but in the late 90's I suddenly had trouble discontinuing this medication even with the help of a doctor, and I assumed this was because I had developed a 'dependence'.
My depression, anxiety, and panic attacks began to worsen during this time period, and I began to develop other symptoms - insomnia, pain in my spine and joints, IBS, a droopy left eyelid, restless legs, teeth-grinding - to name a few. I began to see more and more doctors as my list of symptoms grew, but doctors assumed that I was seeking more Klonopin and that there was nothing wrong with me.
There's a lot more to my story, but basically I almost died. Klonopin was merely a bandaid for what was really going on with me. I no longer even believe in "benzo dependence". Here's what was causing my anxiety:
Chronic Lyme, babesia, and several viral infections causing brain inflammation (join Lymenet!)
Also, severe electromagnetic hypersensitivities/microwave sickness.
If you've been placed on Klonopin, there is a good chance you are merely a victim of chronic Lyme and the wireless boom. Google "Elves Against ELF (& RF).

Klonopin only serves to sedate you to the fact that you have a raging infection in your nervous system, fueled by the wireless boom.

I only take .5mg twice a day for anxiety. Started taking to help with palpitations and lightheadedness (chronic). Seems to help alot. Just as I started it a head cold settled in, so can't discern if the fatigue is from the cold, the klonopin, or both. Even with the fatigue I feel so much more functional. So very interesting. Bill

My husband takes 0.5mgs. each day for restless leg and mood problems. He is still having leg jerks but they are different than usual. He usually has flutters in his feet about every 5 to 10 seconds at night but now they jerk and wake him up. He is better mood-wise but I have noticed sometimes he is more aggitated in public places like restaurants. He seems to be annoyed and loader when he talks. He seems mad all the time except at home. I wonder if he just needs to be at home at night at dinner time? OR is that just a side effect of this medicine. He changes once he has had something to eat though. It seems to me that food is the key with him to stablize this situation. I have also noticed once or twice him staggering like John Wayne when he walks at that same time. Otherwise he feels generally better and less anxious at work.

I have been on Klonopin for over a year, with positive results.
Becacuse I did not make it to my Dr. app. last week, my doctor will not refill my RX, I have been told by three doctors that I have anxiety disorder. When I take my prescription of this medicine--- it helps with my anxiety. I take it as prescribed, which is 2 tabs of 1mg a day. I do not abuse my medicine. When I take it, I feel normal- with NO side effects, sometimes- it does make me a little sleepy....but I do feel so much better taking it, then with out it. More to talk about, but do not want to go on, and on about it! Thanks for reading! H. Clark in Washington

I'v take Klonopin 1mg 2 times a day, but I take an extra if I'm getting anxious, many problems in my life recently have left me taking an extra 1 or 2 aday. Now I feel tired even after 10 hours of sleep and my head is dizzy, swaying almost I feel it mostly in my temples. Is this overdose. When I finally got the right combination of Lexapro 30 mg. once a day and Klonopin 1 mg twice a day I felt normal now I think I screwed it up. Teresa

I have an uncle and he takes Klonopin. For about three months he has been having problems waking up with a sudden jerk of his leg. When he tries to fall asleep the jerking of his leg wakes him up. Is this a bad thing that can lead to something unhealthy?

My sun has suffered from three years of age with stomach pain and discomfort uppon eating he is now 12 years old. We have seen many doctors all of whom are very vague. His blood work consistantly comes back with low amylase and lipase. Yet they dont see any need for further investigation. I have been told he has a sensitive stomach. As a mother I see more. I live with him and see him every day. He eats very little, (i think it still hurts) he says he's not in pain anymore. At nine he was still thr...
by lisa39, 3 replies, updated about 2 hours ago.January 2007 I had an epidural steroid injection with Kenalog go completely wrong. The doctor placed the needle in too far and punctured the dura. Instead of aborting the procedure, he did the Kenalog injection directly in to my subdural space. I had immediate side effects, starting with a dural puncture headache. That headache changed in to chronic daily headaches that are very severe. I developed burning stabbing leg and foot pain, . I have bladder dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, and numbness througho...

She has not been in school for 2 months. Dr's now all say it is anxiety. She wakes up with this and goes to bed with this. Has it night and day and on weekends. She does have some anxiety issues, was...

Occasionally take approx. 2 mgs. of the generic form and have experienced the very disturbing side effect of memory loss. A place I visited in reality recently while on Klonopin now seems like it was only a dream. Though the drug helps with anxiety and helps to sleep, the negatives out-weigh any positives.
