Behold the rash. I was doing so well on this med (compared to Topamax and Keppra). I finally thought, "Hey, I am on a med that isn't going to make me stupid or psychotic.". I woke up this morning with a rash on my neck. I've phoned my neuro's service and am waiting for a call back.

I'm wonder what the early systems of SJS are? What does the rash look like? Mine is (and I looked via a cell phone pic because it's not visible due to its location) red with these bumps all over it. It doesn't itch but it burns a little bit.

I have been experiencing a flu like symptom for over a year now. They started about 2 months after I began taking 350mg of lamictal a day. Symptoms include exhaustion, headache, soar/achy throat, post-nasal drip, TONS of nausea, lack of digestion & regurgitation of food. I am tired and feel warn out all the time... I have had everything checked by doctors and they've found no health reasons to explain these symptom's.

HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS????

I've been on Lamictal for about four years (I also take Topamax) and it's never given me much of a problem as far as I could tell - until now. At least, I think - HOPE? - it's the Lamictal. Out of the blue two weeks ago, I became so lightheaded and dizzy that I couldn't imagine what was going on. It got so bad one day that it tripped off an aura and I almost had a GM for the first time in over 5 years. I've been to the (regular) doctor who did blood tests to check for various problems, and have an appointment with an ENT tomorrow to check for inner ear problems... because I couldn't imagine that I would suddenly develop a Lamictal issue this far into taking it. But, reading your responses it appears that I possibly could be. Thank you for posting your experiences, I'm going to call my neuro right now.

I've been on Lamictal for 3 years after a brain tumor removal. I was intially on Dilantin but the side effects made me crazy. My face constantly tingled and was numb, I couldn't speak well and the dizziness was debilitating. My neuro put me on Lamictal. I started off at 100mg, once in the morning and once at night, and had another seizure. I finally figured out I was having my seizures in the late afternoon and deduced the drug was wearing off around that time. My neuro put me on 150mg 2x a day and 100mg at lunch time. I've had no seizures for 2 years and 3 months so I think we have the dosage problem licked. However, I am really dizzy in the late afternoon and if I get excited like when I'm at a party. Shopping makes it much worse and I think that is due to moving my eyes around so much. Grocery shopping can be a tough task. I don't slur my words but I frequently cannot 'find' the right word. I'm slower in everything. I cannot take a walk looking at the horizon because I lose my balance and get dizzy again. Sometimes my head tingles. Heat makes it worse and when I get hot flashes (yes, I'm over 50) makes the dizzy much worse. Sometimes my fingers don't automatically go to the home key on the computer keyboard. I have to really concentrate on things that used to be automatic, like knowing a stop light is red. I used to be able to 'see' that and react appropriately. Now I have to concentrate on those red lights so it is irritating. I feel like I'm getting old. However, I will stay on this medication. It works and though the side effects are tough to live with, I'd rather stay on a med that I know works, rather than try one that might work. I lose my driver's license every time I have a seizure. I guess that is the worst side effect :-( I'm hunting for something to combat the dizziness and am using mybraintrainer.com to see if brain training exercises will help me become faster again. It can't hurt and so far I've had a little bit of success. I'll just keep going.

Hi Guys I have been suffering from chronic daily headaches since March 2006. I was given the fantastic news that my body doesn't like itself anymore. I don't know when it had a falling out, but all I can say is the course of action to remedy this disease is CRAZY. Taking meds that have more side effects and the restrictions on my daily life, because of the meds, no driving, no salt, no sugar, and little fat in my diet, very little sun. Bathing in skin moisturizer, moodiness, mental confusion, can't work, but expected to continue cooking for family, and cleaning. Which I guess ...

My partner insists that he's not drunk & he's just very tired. He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?

I have suffered from Ulcerative Colitis now for three years. Although it is held at bay by medication I have found that I suffer from the same side effects each time the condition Flares up. These are: mouth ulcers, localised cysts in my groin, coldsores and fatigue. I'm just curious because the symptons seem to appear before the flare up...
