I have had a total thyroidectomy due to thyroid carcinoma about 2.5 -3 years ago. I have been on synthroid and levoxyl and both have caused tingling and numbness in my hands and feet, what I call a general fog (hard to concentrate or think, sometimes talk). I have been tested for neuropathy since endo said radiation may have caused issues. Only to be cleared by neurologist. Now endo switched does lower after rebout of cancer from 300mcg to 274mcg and have knee joints now going numb I want to sleep all the time, general weakness and now low testosterone levels.

I have been on Levoxyl for over 10 years with no problem. When I picked up my refill two weeks ago the pharmacist said that the pill may be a different color but it's just that the company that was making Levoxyl sold it to another company and is now making it. Within a week I was very itchy, then I started getting hives at night and waking up with them in the morning. I also developed severe heartburn. I feel very full and cannot lie down at night. I also can't eat very much at one time because of the heartburn/reflux. My family doctor advised I call my endo which I did. She advised me that she has had patients all week that are having problems with Levoxyl that never had them before. She took me off the Levoxyl and put me on Synthroid. I will start that tomorrow morning and hope I will get some relief soon. The pharmacist said I wasn't the only one going off the 'new' Levoxyl, others have been in all week exchanging their prescriptions as well. Has anyone else had this same situation?

I have been suffering from severe pain and tingling in my hands and feet for over 12 months, now. Initially it was blamed on immuno-suppression drugs following my kidney transplant. When the immuno-suppression drugs were changed, the problem remained. It was then that the doctor suggested that the problem lay with Levothyroxine. However, he didn't have any suggestions to make to ease the problem.

At times, I can't touch anything or feel anything as the pain is so intense. I get hot sweats and it causes a ringing in my ears. It makes cold water feel hot to the touch. I have trouble sleeping some nights when the pain starts.

I have been on Levoxyl for 14 years, over time I have had increasing problems with leg pain, joint pain, memory loss, cold hands and feet, bouts of being very tired. Until I discovered Armour Thyroid, I feel so much better since going on the natural thyroid instead of the synthetics.

Oh gosh! So it's not only me having all these side effects from Levoxyl. I started taking it 7 mos. ago after having my baby. I'm on 88 mg. I feel much worse than when I was not taking it. I feel tired, irritable and have terrible hot flashes one minute and feel cold the next.
There is tingling in my hands and feet. I talked to my doc but he said it's not the medication! So I went to see him again and insisted he change the dosage or put me on something else, so far he slightly changed the dossage. So we'll see how it goes.

Wow am I glad I found this site! I had my thyroid destroyed in May and started taking Levoxyl at the beginning of August of this year. At first things were going well but after the dosage was increased I started to notice leg pain, numbness in my hands and feet as well as joint pain. I spoke with the doc and he said that it could be related to not having enough hormone and after blood tests revealed very high TSH levels, he increased. Since then the pain has worsened and I even went to my primary doctor who tested for Lupus and RA. I had none of these symptoms until I started the Levoxyl, not one! I feel relieved that others are having this experience too and plan to speak with the doctor about it.

I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Since I started taking Levoxyl I am no longer fatigued or cold. My TSH levels stay between 2 and 3. However, I seem to be having memory problems that are getting worse. Also I have pain in my hands and feet and sometimes wrists and ankles. I have been tested for everything in the world and they have found nothing. I did not have this pain before the levoxyl, so I assume it is a side effect.

I've been taking Levoxyl for about a year. My biggest complaint is joint pain. First my hip and then my ankle. That pain has since passed but now I have a burning sensation in my right foot. It is so severe that I have trouble walking. It is that painful. I have lost no weight and have also experienced numbness in my hands and feet

I just started this medication and have exessively sweaty hands and feet. Will this continue the whole time I'm on it?

I have recently started on Levythyroxine and upt my dose to 50mcg. Since doing this I am experiencing terrible joint pain. I get tingling in my hands and feet and am exhausted. This has all started since commencing on the drug.

I've been on thyroid medicine since I was 10, so about 12 years now. I started on Amour medicine and recently my doctor switched me to Levoxly which is the generic for Synthroid. And ever seen I started this medicine I was felt like crap. My hair is falling out uncontrollably, when I wash it, brush it, or just pull at it. My hands and feet fall asleep all the time. I'm still young and my body aches. I've experienced loss of libido and just in general I feel sick.

I have been taking Levoxyl for approximately 6 weeks and am tempted to stop. I have a continuous feeling of nausea, pains in chest and back, and numbness/tingling of hands and feet. In short, I have a general feeling of ill health!
