Levoxyl and nervousness

I HAVE BEEN TAKING LEVOXYL FOR 22YRS AND I FEEL LIKE I CAN NEVER GET SLEEP,I TAKE MY PILL IN THE MORNING AND CAN'T SLEEP ALL NITE AND AM TIRED OF IT,I WISH THEY HAD AN ALTERNATIVE.THAT WAY I CAN SLEEP AND NOT BE DEPRESSED ALL THE TIME

I started on Levoxyl about 3 months ago. I noticed my hot flashes (I'm menopausal) get worse, then I started getting horrible irritable bowel, nervousness, tingling, headaches, and mood lability. I have been off it a week. The symptoms are a little better but still persist. Anyone know how long these might last? I will not use it again, for sure. If anything, I will use Armour Thyroid or something more natural. Any suggestions.

i was diagnosed with what the Drs said as a sluggish thyroid---i have had panic attacks for over 20yrs and just thought I was pooped from them---Dr gave me 25 levothyroxine and told me to give it aprox 3months---i did and well I felt terrible nervous, depressed and more panicky---i believe the depression was from feeling more panicky and not being able to socialize---so, my Dr took me off the 25 T4 and put me on DHEA and progesterone, after doing the saliva test to check certain levels. Her hopes are that I will get energy levels back without nervousness since she has noticed my hormone levels are off and as she said I have adrenal exhaustion. So, Im only on the 3rd day off of the T4 and on the current regiment of 25mg DHEA/B supplements/
EFAs/and Lyrica(25mg)/ and I have no energy at all-----i just want to sleep but i push myself but cant wait to hit the bed almost always right now--I never had these symptoms b4 I went on the T4 aprox 3months ago but now that Im going off I feel terrible, I am definitely calmer and less anxious now that I am off them but I cant make a decision to save my life and Im pooped!!! Does anyone know if going off 25 T4 could have such a drastic affect----thx so much-----

I started at 25mcg, then my doc raised it to 75 mcg. I had no trouble before other than lab results were high. With meds I had a few problems. With increased dose I have nervousness, feel almost like I am on speed when the meds kick in for about 7 hours, then I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. I have a ravenous appetite and yet, have lost 15 lbs. Not good since I only weigh 125. I have terrible abdominal pain, sweating, a lot of hair loss, leg cramps and headaches (something I never get). My doc wants to raise me to 88mcg. I don't think so!
What else can I take? I am checking into natural stuff now.

I just started on levothyroxine 9 days ago. I experienced nervousness right off the bat but that has calmed down somewhat. I have a headache all the time and my eyes burn so bad that I can't look at anything. Even when I shut my eyes they continue to burn. I am constipated also. I do not like this medicine. I, also, felt better before I was on it than now.

I have been on levoxyl for about 6 weeks now.

I was placed on this medication after I had my daughter 8 months ago. I was losing my hair and they (the OB and GP) ordered some lab work to be completed - my thyroid was a bit under active. I read some where that this occasional happens after pregnancy, but it would eventually correct itself and all should be good after a few months. (This happend with my first pregnancy also - but they never ordered any labs to be completed). To my dismay, they placed me on this medication.

I noticed for the first 2-3 weeks sever fatigue, I would be motivated in the am, but by the afternoon I was exhausted and needed to nap.

I also tend to have nervousness and anxiety attacks - symptoms that I have never experience prior to being on this medication.

Lastly, there seems to be times where I feel like I have drank 500 cups of coffee and have a huge high, then crash and have a huge low.

Anyone else??
