My new doctor put me on Lipitor and after taking it 5 days I developed a redness and swelling under my left eye. I also felt out of it and went from feeling really good to barely being able to do anythng. I quit taking it immediately and by the next day or so I was my old self. My doctor does not listen to me when I try to explain that I have strange physical reactions to most meds. He wants me to change my medicines, but it took me too long to find the ones I can tolerate. My LDL is not good but I'm exercising (walking) daily for 35-45 minutes and drinking more water, eating oatmeal at breakfast, cutting out all sugar, eating lots of fresh veggies and fruits and I feel better than I've ever felt.

I took lipitor, crestor, and a couple of other statins (same stuff) and each time I had good results for my cholestral. However, after a couple of months I became lethargic and depressed. I did not feel like getting up and I was like lead when I did. My memory became extremely bad and now I have a muscle twitch in my left eye( don't know if it was the med. though). I have been off the Lipitor now for about a week and I am starting to regain energy as well as concentration. I have taken this medication enough to be an expert on knowing what it was doing to me. This needs to be banned. Lots of elderly people are not going to know what this is doing to them. It could render them helpless and they want know what's wrong.

My dad is 62 years old, and he recently stopped taking lipitor after a few years of being on it...4 years ago he began experiencing muscle weakness in his thighs, and they started to atrophy...3 years ago, he would randomly fall without warning. Now he has to walk with a cane, sometimes 2, and he has trouble going up and down stairs...
My mother had breast cancer 6 years ago, and after being on Tamoxphen for 3 years she went blind in her left eye, and remains blind today...her doctor told her that it was probably due to this drug...These drug companies are evil!!

Appearance of floaters in the left eye. Has anyone else experienced this after going on Lipitor?
Also, very tired, feeling of soreness all over. Arthritis-like pain in elbo and in hip/leg joint. I am thinking about getting off this and doubling efforts of diet/exercise. I am beginning to see why my late mother had so much trouble with weakness and feelings of coldness.

I've have been on 40mg's Liptior for about 2 years. The side effects that I am haveing is; Left arm numbness, left eye and ear sensitive, dizziness, unbalanced, stiff and sore joints. FLu like symptoms. I have stopped using this drug a week ago. My doctor has told me that it would be about 6 weeks till my blood clears itself of the liitor. I'm feeling better but I still have problems with my left side symptoms and hoping my body will find away to adjust to these complications. I will never use a statin drug again! I hope all of you find a resolution to tis madness.....

After taking Lipitor for six weeks I experienced a dramatic change in the vision of my left eye. Doctors could find nothing wrong with the eye and ordered an MRI. Problems with the blood vessels in my brain were detected. I stopped taking the drug two weeks ago and my vision has improved, but not back to normal. I don't know if there is a connection with the medication but I'm not taking any chances. I'm off it for good.
