gagging cough, perhaps intestinal angio edema, but my hair will grow.
also i was having frequent, urgent urination,i thought it was possibly because i drink liquids frequently due to hot flashes from peri-menopause, but after taking lisinopril/htcz 10mg, my urinary symptoms improved, no urgency, go figure!

Has anyone had a problem with mouth or tongue sores? My oral surgeon elimnated anything serious, but still can't for sure tell me why the left side of my tongue is sore and red. Leiton planus was mentioned, I found that on one site to be associated with certain blood pressure medications.

I have been taking lisinopril for years (10 mg/daily) without any noticable problems. About 2 months ago, my doctor doubled the dose and changed me to the version with HTCZ (a diuretic) included. A few weeks later, I started having this tickling sensation in my throat making me have a slight cough. The cough kept getting worse as the days went by and I also started having this congested feeling in my chest. I would cough my head off and it wasn't productive. I would cough until I would get dizzy and almost pass out.

I finally went to the doctor think I had some lung infection or TB. I was given a TB skin test, antiobiotics, and a chest x-ray. The TB test was negative, the chest x-ray was normal, and the antiobiotics don't seem to have changed anything.

I was back at the doctor yesterday and she said she think it's the lisinopril and switched me to Diovan. I started taking the Diovan this morning. Only time will tell if it is indeed the lisinopril that was the culprit.

I was prescribed Lisinopril after being diagnosed with HBP. I had been taking HTCZ and feeling fine. The Lisinopril immediately made me feel lousy, and I developed a terrible cough - keeping me up at night, coughing to the point of throwing up. I thought it was my asthma and renewed my inhaler prescription. That didn't work in relieving the cough. Finally, I just got so tired and worn out from coughing all of the time, I stopped all of my medications and added them back one at a time to see if I could identify the culprit. As soon as I added the Lisinopril, the cough came back. I'm stopping it - it cannot be good for you to cough constantly, and throwing up made the blood vessels around my eyes burst - making me look like I had been punched in the face.
I have a month's supply that's going down the drain today.

My doctor put me on Lisinopril/HTCZ at a rate of 1/2 tab a day, I went from good energy to total listlessness and after a week developed a bad deep flu like cough. I'm 59 years old Male and in pretty good health. My blood preasure was 140/90. I took this drug for about 2 weeks and went steadily down hill, I stop taking Lisinopril and slowly(about a month) Regained my energy in one day after being off the stuff. But the cough is very tough to shake, it's been off the stuff for about a month and am just now begining to lose the cough, It usually hits the worst while trying to eat dinner. Also while taking this drug, I would just bend down to pick up something off the floor and would come up panting as if I had run a mile. I was so happy to find this forum, But don't understand why any doctor would continue to precribe this stuff to anybody, My doctor is primarily a baby doctor, Boy do I feel sorry for those women, I'm sure if I said anything to the doctor he would think I'm nuts....
