I was on 10mg of Lisinopril for 6 weeks (switched from Azor). After the first 3 days, I was having trouble swallowing . . . this went away 2 days later. Then, I was having trouble breathing, sinus problems, dizziness and constant FATIGUE during the course of the 6 weeks. I am a very active, energetic, 30 year old male. I'm not overweight, and play basketball 2 or 3 days a week. I really think I have White Coat Syndrome (170/110 at dr's office - 130/75 at home), but better safe than sorry.I could not even run for more than 5 minutes straight without feeling like I might pass out. I would have to say during those 6 weeks, I was functioning about 50% of normal, at best. I tried to stick it out to see if the side effects would go away; they only seemed to get worse over time. My Doctor said it was the "summer fever" and allergies. I felt it was the medication, especially after reading these posts, so I switched doctors. My new doctor took me off of this medication. He said Lisinopril can has been known to effect your lungs and cause breathing problems. He is located in the same practice as my previous doctor. Why she didn't inform me of any side effects, I'm not sure (thanks for nothing). All of my terrible symptoms were gone within a week. I am now taking Bystolic (5 weeks), and feel normal again. My father has been on 30mg of Lisinopril for 12 years, and never had any problems. I believe everyone reacts to medications differently. I am now on my 3rd medication in 7 months, and think I have found the one that works best. I guess I'm just one of those people that has trouble adjusting to medication. Good luck to those of you that have not found the right medication yet.

Have been taking Lisinopril for approximately 6 months. Was previously taking Benicar, but insurance company strongly recommended the generic form.

Have experienced depression, eye problems, extreme leg pain, mood swings, sinus problems tightness in my chest, and severe rash and sores over my entire body.

Went to a dermatologist for the rash and sores. She took a biopsy and the report stated I was allergic to something. Had to use 4 anti-itch medications and 4 pills to be taken internally. Rash never did completely clear.

After having a nuclear stress test, my primary care physician referred me to a cardiologist. My left circumflex artery was 90% blocked, so a stent was inserted.

So I should be feeling alot better with all this being done. NO!! Have had more problems since the stent.

Am going today to the dermatologist again for the rash and sores and am taking the Lisinopril so when the biopsy is done, the lab can check to see if this is the culprit.

Also, am going to my PCP today for the leg and back pain. Am going to let him know I will not be taking Lisinopril anymore. An alternative blood pressure medicine will have to be prescribed.

Thanks for all the information. I will update my situation as soon as I know what is going on.

I was taking atenolol 20 mg for a while for bp. But that caused sinun problem which meant i took sudafed etc and that further increased bp. it was a vicious cycle. i went off it and now take lisinopril hctz 20 mg. the funny thing is my doctor's nurse was taking my bp with may arm swinging on its own weight and id get 140/90..when i went hom it was around 125/80 or 125/75. i complained to my dr and she realized the problem. she reduced me to lisinopril hctz 10 mg and now i take only half a pill daily.

i get a lot of sinus problems which have never happened to me before and also get easily tired. i have started acupunture and chinese herbal medicins which have done wonders to improving my digestive issuea and headaches. my plan is to get off bp pills completely and only take herbal medicines and eat right.

one warning to people. always measure bp when you are completely relaxed. before i had my machine, i used to walk into Publix and imdtly measure bp and it would always be very high 155/100..etc. always relax and take the third reading..someone told me..otherwise you may have normal bp but be uncessarily on medication which can ruin your lifestyle.

My main problem with Lisinopril is the coughing. Coughing, coughing. coughing. I will be fine for 2 to 3 hours and then start with this awful cough. People will actually turn away from me if I am out shopping and a cough begins. I presume they believe it is contagious. Sometimes I end up vomiting and I cannot catch my breath. Coughing at night is really a problem because of lack of sleep. Doctors believe my cough is due to allergies because I have post nasal drip. However, none of the medications they have given me stop the coughing. I never had this problem until I began taking Lisinopril. Lisinopril is my first Blood Pressure medication.

June 4 I almost fail out in a store and I thought my vertigo had returned. Rushed to the jospital and my blood pressure was 195/95 and they said it was due to stress. I am currently taking Lisinopril and I feel crapy and tired all the time. Plus they gave me Xanax for anxiety. I do not know how long I can continue this medication. My head hurts, I have tingling in my right arm and of course I have a cough I though was due to sinus problems. We take medication to help us not to make us feel worse.

I am so glad I found this site. Since I have been on Lisinopril 5mg, I have experienced extreme fatigue, sweating, left side of my neck is sore and my left eyeball was swelling and I am getting floaties and little spider like webbs, sometimes itching of the eyes. I also have gained weight and have been so bloated I could not wear some of my clothes. I went to my eye doctor about my eye situation, he did all the tests necessary and could not find anything wrong with the eye, other than the swelling, he suggested sinus problems and referred me to my primary doctor. The primary doctor could find nothing wrong with my sinuses and referred me to the eye doctor!!!!!. I am drowsy a lot and just plain have no energy. The problems with my eye started when the doctor upped the dose from 5 to 10 mg. I have ringing in my ears to go along with everthing else. Of all the above I had none until I started on this rx. I was beginning to think I was on a downhill trip until I found this site. I cut the dosage from 10 to five and the swelling in the eye and the sinus pressure decreased. I will insist on being put on another rx for my b/p or I just will not take it,

I have always had sinus problems, but the congestion never goes away. Has anyone else had this symptom from Lisinopril?

My sun has suffered from three years of age with stomach pain and discomfort uppon eating he is now 12 years old. We have seen many doctors all of whom are very vague. His blood work consistantly comes back with low amylase and lipase. Yet they dont see any need for further investigation. I have been told he has a sensitive stomach. As a mother I see more. I live with him and see him every day. He eats very little, (i think it still hurts) he says he's not in pain anymore. At nine he was still thr...
