Lisinopril and toprol xl 50 mg

I have been on the Lisinopril w/ HCTZ for approximately 2 weeks now. I had been on Toprol XL 50 mg for months with no decrease in my BP. I do notice a slight sleepiness and the first two days of taking the Lisinopril I had quite a flushing reaction due to the arterial dilation. Since day 2 my BP has been lowering and I am experiencing no side effects that I am aware of. My BP has reached normal levels, I keep my fluid intake up but I honestly am thrilled with how much better I feel. I hope this continues, but I really would like to be able to wean off the drug in the next several months with good weight and fitness management. What I've read here is a bit scary for sure. I read very little of the side effects mentioned here in any of the pharmacological literature.

I stopped taking Lisinopril yesterday and am still coughing and having some breathing problems. I take alupent for asthma several times a year but have had to take it more frequently while I was on Lisinopril. My doctor just switched me to "Cozaar". Does anyone know anything about Cozaar?
I could not find any reports on side effects. Thanks
