I've been using maxide now for over 5 years as a way to keep off unwanted water retention. For the past year I've been experiencing numbness and tingling in my feet and hands which has progressed to severe peripherial neuropathy. In the beginning, it was only brought on while running and I thought it was just a result of my running long distances and perhaps just an electrolite deficiency. I began taking a potassium supplement and continued to run (30- 60 miles per week) without much relief. At this point I am no longer able to run. My arms are numb much of the time and my feet and legs become numb while sitting. I am unable to stop using the drug as I blow up and cannot even wear my own clothes. I have not been able to go off the drug for more than a few days without intolerable side effects. It's changed my life. I'm depressed and frustrated that I can no longer enjoy running which was a major part of my life. Has anyone experienced any similar side effects or have any idea if this condition can be reversed?

Tingling on surface of skin, sore joints, leg cramps. Started taking potassium and the cramps went away. Used to walk my dogs several miles a day after work. No longer have the energy. Tired after a good night's sleep. Loss of motivation. Also experiencing ringing in my ears, headaches and dizziness. I get vertigo just riding my mower in wide circles around trees. My ankles never have been swollen. Now they are swollen on a regular basis. My feet and legs are painful for no reason.

i have been taking generic maxide for about 10 years. i was given it because of swelling in my ankles. now i still swell, but have had a strange itching kind of rash on my breasts for a couple of years. it drives me crazy and no one seems to know what it is. is it possible that it could have something to do with this drug? and is there anything else i could take for the edema. if i stop the drug i swell so bad in my legs that i cant function. i would appreciate any info you could give me. i have asked several doctors about the long term use of maxide and they say it is harmless.

When I first started taking Maxide I had severe cramps everywhere but especially in my legs. I found out that if I ate a banana the cramps would ease up. Now, I not bothered my the cramps as much but last week I developed an itchy rash that from my neck down to my legs. The rash "moves" and doesn't seem to stay in one place for very long.

I have been on bloodpressure medice for a number of years now, Lasix and /antenonol, and just about three month ago my recent doctor adviced me to take Maxide in addition, ever since then I have had very bad pains in my legs, and just now have had a bout with gout, the pain has beem very depilitating, I have not been able to walk without a cane. I went to the emergency and was asked by the emergency doctor why I was taking Maxide?? Because what Maxide does is create uric acid in your body , which create gout. I gues you dont have to guess what I have dne since that news, I have thrown Maxide away. I need my life back without so much pain.

I have been taking Maxide for over 8 years, and now I have severe weakness in my legs, and have to struggle to keep my balance. When I go to bed at night, my legs feel as though they have littlle people running continuosly in inside. I mentioned this to my Doctor, and he suggested that I take half a tablet each day. I also had a serious problem with my potassium level being at a dangerous point at one time, and not I am taking prescription potassiun every day. Please give me some information on these problems.
