I am only 20 years old and i have already lost alot of hair .. not from methimazole it just fell out on its own..i have one bald spot in the back of my head and my hair is breaking off every day.. What can I do about my hair loss?

I am having horrible hair loss too. I always had thick, helthy hair. Now my pony tail is about half the diameter...I have to twist the hair band 3 times instead of 2 and it still slides off. And I barely have any bangs left at all.
My doctor said it doesn't matter, (in fact, he wouldn't even acknowledge it as a side effect) since my levels are now fine. Easy for HIM to say!!
I'm considering getting the thyroid surgery now, so I can get off methimozole, but I'm afraid what the side effects for the OTHER medicine will be. Since that's permenant, I don't want to take that step too soon...but I also don't want to go bald!
