MethylPREDNISolone side effects

I feel much better...but I have been craving sweets like mad!

I have stomach pains and increased vaginal itching. This is my second day of a sixth day dose. I'm wondering if ithe steroid is causing a yeast infection. I'm taking the medication for a pinched nerve in my neck.

This drug made my heart race, my head spin and my skin blotchy. I felt as if I was viewing and hearing the world through a long tunnel. I have taken it twice for the swelling associated with the gum grafts and had the same reaction each time.

Feel like I took speed. Was very nauseous a few hours ago - that finally passed. Head spinning - basically feel "bad" (not sure how to describe).

But - this is prescribed for a case of poison ivy - poison ivy no fun either.

However, I wonder if a lower dose may have helped the PI without the side effects.

I took 24mg of the drug today. (6 pills at 4mg each)

Side effects are not bad enough to stop the drug now that I have started - I taper down a pill per day.

Although - if I ever have to get this again (high probability - I get bad cases of poison ivy frequently) I think I will try halving the dose. Start with 12mg and taper down 1/2 pill per day.

I guess one way to find out if that will be effective for poison ivy control - but without the side effects.

I am sure the 24mg starting strength is fine for most people. Keyword there being "most". I guess I am not "most" people.
