I started on Mircette about a year and a half ago. Since then, I have experienced extreme anxiety, migraines, depression (crying for no reason), numbness and tingling in my arms, hands, head, face, and neck. Before this, I was a very easy going gal. Now I get nervous around crowds, in restaurants, movie theaters, and have had to change my lifestyle so much, that I don't even go out with friends as much and feel like I am losing control of my life and body. I just saw my doctor today (she is my new dr. and did not prescribe Mircette to me). She said since I have Migraines, I shouldn't even be taking Mircette, which has a very high dose of progesterone. She said 1 in 20 women cannot take high amounts of progesterone and that she never would have given me this pill. She advised me to go off the pill for 3 months to see how I feel. Hopefully, I will feel like myself again :)

I was on Mircette for 7 months. The worst 7 months of my life. I was absolutely crazy on this pill. I am the most laid back person, and on this pill I became very violent, yelling and screaming for no reason. I'd cry for no reason, and feel anxious a lot. I also had SEVERE stomach problems. The pain was very comparable to giving birth, which i have done twice. The only difference was instead of the pain being in my lower abdomen, it was just below my ribs and above my belly button. The constant mood swings and pain turned me off to Mircette. It has been 7 weeks since i have been off of all bc pills, and i feel great. I just wish my stomach problems would end. It's a lot less severe now, but I am going to make an appointment with a gastrointestinal dr.t. I would never recommend it to anyone. Ever.

I am extremely bloated on this pill, my pants don't fit anymore. Although I find that this happens with all BC pills, even Yaz that had a diuretic, so I am now going off the pill, I wish men could take pills.

I have been on Mircette for over a year and a half. I'm 54, in good health and work out. Never smoked but heart disease runs in my family. I've never had any problem with moods etc. My Dr. put me on the medication to regulate my periods, hot flashes and help me get through menopause. I like the fact my periods are lighter and predictable. Lately I've had pain in my legs, like maybe my deep veins and severe cramps in my thighs and feet. It was just at night now I'm having the pain during the day. I am so afraid of a stroke, heart attack, or blood clots. Does anybody know if this could be a blood clot? My Dr. says that I'm not going to have any problems because it is such a low dose. Any comments from anyone?

I have been on Mircette for over a year now. I was switched to Mircette b/c Loestrin made me extremely moody. Starting a few months ago I have become unpredictable. Some days I am happy, some days I am angry and paranoid. Some moments I cry for no reason, or for very little reason- over react. I have swollen breasts and my acne is getting worse after I've been on it for a while. My Dr. has presribed Yasmin - but after reading everyone's entries on Yasmin I am wondering if that will really help the moodiness and depression.

Went off of Yasmine because it made me so nervous, shaky, and intense. I felt like I was having a panic attack. I went on mircette for a few days and that seemed better, but was starting to bloat up after only 5 days. Quit for 2 months and adeno came back fiercely and went on Mircette again since it didn't make me nutso like the Yasmine. Have been on five days and hands, feet and legs are numb. Couldn't sleep last night as was so numb. Really scary feeling. I'm just going to have to find another way to deal with the adeno. Disgusted with our lack of choices. Hormones obviously are not worth it. Don't feel like having a heart attack or stroke in my 30's.

I was on Yasmin first and started having really bad side effects like numbing/tingling in my left hand and foot. Headaches were horrible and I was constantly nauseous. My doctor took me off Yasmin and put me through a bunch of tests to make sure that I didn't have MS. Once that was ruled out, and I was feeling better, he put me on Mircette. I did fine on Mircette for about 3 months and then the pharmicist gave me a generic packet. I don't know if that made a difference, but I was horribly nauseous the ENTIRE time, my breasts were constantly sore. Now the tingling/numbness has come back in my lower left leg and a little in my hand. I even had some tingling in my cheek?? I'm off birth control pills for good. There's got to be something better out there.
Has anyone else had the same symptoms???

Why don't we have more choices? im really upset right now because this is the 7th bc pill ive tried. Im praying that i wont have the side affects that you women have had, i feel really bad for all of you.
