has anyone noticed that the women complaining of no symptoms are the women who have not had any kids? the weird thing is i was told women who have not had children should not have it inserted. while reading all of your stories i have my husband and sister here and they remember me mentioning all of symptoms before i read this. so it is not me thinking i have these symptoms. i have had the acne, more hair falls out when i brush my hair, mood swings, depression, negative thinking towards myself, paranoia, no patience, irritability, increased feelings of anger, jealousy, separation from others, foggy vision, fatigue, sleepy - lazy,n panic attacks, anxiety, problems loosing weight, really stiff back when i wake up, sleeplessness. before i had i never had to use deodorant and now i do, so maybe increased sweating. i am 20 yrs old, 2 kids (2 yrs and 7 months), i have had mirena since January of 2008. the slight spotting they told me about before insertion lasted 2 months, i too ruined too many pairs of underwear thinking it had stopped only for it to start again. the two periods i have had are lighter but they last longer. i rarely get cramps but when i do i am doubling over. i have talked to my doctor's nurses and they have never heard this before i guess and don't know what i am talking about. my husband saw on the local news that women are reporting severe symptoms. if you read their site about it they even say that they are not sure how it works exactly. they just have a general idea. i am getting off of it like the others. i know it sounds like a lot of symptoms but it is all tied to hormones. i am sure some people can handle and some people can't.

I have had Mirena since July. I went through a lot of life stress this past fall (moving to a new city after 10 years, being separated from my bf during this time for two months, etc) but I really think Mirena is not right for me.

I am bloated all the time, my periods are erratic, I am more moody than usual and I have NO sex drive. Worst of all, I think I'm pregnant ALL THE TIME. I just don't trust this thing and I literally drive my man nuts worrying about being pregnant. I also have developed some pimples (like on my back, upper arms, etc) that I never had a problem with before! I have gained a few pounds as well.

I feel like a putz spending all this money but I really want it out. I feel like I should "give it more time" but really, what is the point?

I had a lot of anxiety problems as well as a whole lot of other side effects due to Mirena. My GP said it couldn't be the Mirena and two weeks before I had Mirena taken out by another GP, he had put me on anti depressants.
I was reluctant to take them but as you all know the anxiety is terrible, so I started taking them. I didn't take a look at the list of side effects that comes with the pills, because I didn't want to start IMAGINING them. But I had terrible heartburn and pain, and belching. Yesterday, I read the list of side effects: turns out there's a whole list of stuff you can get from the anti depressants that very much resembles those you get from Mirena! Including the heartburn, milk flow from the breasts, the weak nerves, etc. So to all of you out there who are taking the
anti depressants too: check the list! Or you may think you are not healing while you ARE healing from the Mirena, but are staying sick because of the anti-depressants!

I am so glad that I found this site! I feel like I could have written most of these posts. I had the Mirena inserted a year ago this month (when my daughter was 2 1/2 months old), and all was great the first six months (after the initial bleeding had stopped, anyway). These last six months have been SO hard. My mood swings have been HORRIBLE. I am constantly yelling at my 3 older kids and husband, over nothing. Things that would never have bothered me before, drive me crazy now. I hate the way this has affected me. I feel like I am such a mean person sometimes, not the good mom I want to be. It has caused me terrible anxiety problems, I have panic attacks, skin breakouts, loss of sex drive, I am constantly tired, the list goes on and on...Reading through all of these posts today has convinced me to call my midwive's office to make an appointment to have this thing removed. I can't wait.

Because I sleep so much, my back and ribs get so sore. Also, I feel like my muscles are weakening. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Does that make sense? I have had this disorder from the time I turned about 25. I am now 35. I have been to several Physicians and 90% think it's depression. However, the reason I'm depressed is because I'm so freaking tired. It takes everything I have to cook supper and wash dishes. I just wish there was a magic pill out there to diminish the effects of t...

Prevention and reversal of heart disease, Linus pauling's vitamin C and Lysine, proline formula flat out works, no bs, no sales pitch just truth. I am a shining example. Google it, study and research it then use it, simple cheap, and available anywhere. Get rid of angina attacks in days. Had about 30 attacks per week, been 2 1/2 years now since starting this, and 1 attack in those 2 1/2 years. This is real, I stake my life on it.
