My mom had symptoms of menigitis and had to go to the hospital after taking naprosyn one time. I thought she was going to die. I found out later that there is such a thing as naprosyn induced menigitis. She swears by it for pain and inflammation relief. She only takes it sometimes but I am scared of it now.

I believe that taking naproxen retains water in the body. Is this true?

I take back what I wrote about naperson. This drug made me sick within 1 month and a half after using it. I had to go to the hospital on July 6, 2003 for throwing up numerous times, dirarrhea all night long. I even lost potassium losing so much fluid, and the nurse had to give it to me because of it would have caused me to have heart problems. Talk about being in pain, that was the worst feeling I've ever experienced. I missed work for 3 days. Slept the next day all day long. I don't recommend anyone taking this horriable drug.

This is my first time taking Naprosyn, strength is 375 mgs, I take 1 pill 3 times a day since May 28, 2003. I'm not having any side effects. This is the only drug that has actually HELPED with the inflammation with the injury I've had with my neck.
Thank you!!
