Norvasc and medication

I have been on Norvasc for about 3 weeks, and just today I saw swelling around my ankles. I am going to talk to my doctor about it right away. I want to get off this medication. I have lines on my ankles, like "sock lines," that I never had before, and I am very worried that this is going to lead to worse side effects.

Last week i had severe chest pain and took norvasc and i didn't know the side effects of this, but heard to reduce attacks of chest pain.and i have seen the side effects of this medication from here,
****** pain reduced day by day and i regain normal state.

After reading other people's experiences with Norvasc, I realized that my symptoms are almost identical. I thought it was rheumatoid arthritis and asked my doctor to give me some tests and all came back negative. I started 5mg of Norvasc about 10 months ago and about 6 months in I started to get muscle spasms in my feet, then spasms and muscle twitching in legs, arms and hands. Extreme flushing in feet, small freckle-like rash on feet, lower legs and ankles. Also have what I would call chronic fatigue and just cannot get myself up and down stairs well. I'm 57 and feel like 100. All over body pain is very debilitative. I've gone from an active, happy person to a cranky person in pain 24 hours a day. So, now I have taken myself off Norvasc and am waiting to see if there is an improvement in my health. I'm still on coversyl for my blood pressure and will talk to my doctor again. It is so true that you must be your own health advocate and try to stay on top of all your health issues.

These side effects are scary! I just got off of the drug LISINOPRIL! PLEASE, PLEASE look it up if your doctor is changing your current medication to LISINOPRIL! There are 1,800 entries from people who got very sick on it! He now gave me a scrip for this and no way I am taking it after reading these side effects and seeing how sick it is making people. Thanks to everyone to for posting on this site! I am making drastic lifestyle changes with diet and exercise so I don't end up in the hospital.

I agree with some of you I am taking 5mg and I am always having headaches and Hot Flashes I feel hot all the time and Upset stomach too.

After 9 months on Norvasc the symptoms intensified. Very dizzy, weak, nausea from spinning head, insomnia. Num feeling in left hand. Within 24 hours after stopping Norvasc the symptoms started to subside. The heaviness in the chest was there but I thought it was a bad heart. Tests show I have a health heart. I'm diabetic, no meds, and have high blood pressure, I also take Accupril for my blood pressure.

I am experiencing severe hives on my torso, thighs, and buttocks, but usually only at night. This is the only med I have changed recently. The BP medication that Norvasc replaced was Accupril and the doc said I had developed an allergic reaction to ace inhibitors, so he changed me to Norvasc.
