After reading other people's experiences with Norvasc, I realized that my symptoms are almost identical. I thought it was rheumatoid arthritis and asked my doctor to give me some tests and all came back negative. I started 5mg of Norvasc about 10 months ago and about 6 months in I started to get muscle spasms in my feet, then spasms and muscle twitching in legs, arms and hands. Extreme flushing in feet, small freckle-like rash on feet, lower legs and ankles. Also have what I would call chronic fatigue and just cannot get myself up and down stairs well. I'm 57 and feel like 100. All over body pain is very debilitative. I've gone from an active, happy person to a cranky person in pain 24 hours a day. So, now I have taken myself off Norvasc and am waiting to see if there is an improvement in my health. I'm still on coversyl for my blood pressure and will talk to my doctor again. It is so true that you must be your own health advocate and try to stay on top of all your health issues.

I have only been taking the generic form of Norvasc for about a week, and I can't take it anymore, as I have to drive to work, and was unable to while I was on it. I was very dizzy, had a red, hot to the touch face constantly, only wanted to sleep all the time, my legs feel so heavy, have a headache, and am very depressed and anxious. Also had stomach pains, and nausea. How can they expect people who have to go to work everyday to take that stuff? It is not a good drug, unless all you need to do is sleep all day!

I took the generic for Norvasc (amlodipine)for 2 months and all I have
to say is the stuff is pure junk.
I felt absolutely AWFUL.
I felt like I had been poisoned.
My lips and tongue swelled, canker sores on my tongue
and I became horribly depressed.
What a bunch of BS!!!
I'm not taking anymore of these poisonous substances!

I had lost about 15 pounds but the minute I was put on Norvasc, I was always hungry and no matter how hard I have tried, my weight continues to go up, also, some swelling of ankles.

After 9 months on Norvasc the symptoms intensified. Very dizzy, weak, nausea from spinning head, insomnia. Num feeling in left hand. Within 24 hours after stopping Norvasc the symptoms started to subside. The heaviness in the chest was there but I thought it was a bad heart. Tests show I have a health heart. I'm diabetic, no meds, and have high blood pressure, I also take Accupril for my blood pressure.

Nervous jittery feeling; wake up in the middle of night feeling like I drank 4 cups of coffee, nervous and unable to go back to sleep for hours. During the day, difficulty moving eyes smoothly across the page when reading. Stopping Norvasc now, had enough.

Are there any meds that are safe? I was taking 10mg norvasc. I started taking 20/25 mg lisinopril. I was doing ok on the norvasc but the added lisinopril has almost killed me. They had cut my norvasc down to 5 mg then to 2.5 mg when I started the lisinopril. 4 days ago I stopped the lisinopril and added back 2.5 mg norvasc. Back to 5 mg. The side effects seem to be letting up. Now im wondering is all of my meds are killing me. I can't live without them. My BP sores. Im so scared of what I should do. Im afraid of all my meds.
