I suffered a stroke immediately following treatment with Octagam. Treatment was given in the UK within accepted protocols, but the stroke was apparently the result of thickening of the blood. As I continue to require ivig treatment, this has been countered by slowing the infusion rate and watering the blood down, initially with a saline drip and latterly by drinking LOTS of water.
