Omeprazole and losec

I have taking Omep,Losec, or Domparion??? for the last 3 yrs. The major side effect for all 3 have been knee and calf cramps after going to bed. The morning starts with the cramps, and they are getting more frequent. I place a ice pack on the area, and it subsides for awhile. Hot baths seem to inflame the area. Any suggestions??? The acid refux is gone. I have taken myself off the medication, and the AR returns with a vengence. Interesting about the comment re: generic drugs, I hope you are wrong, as the insurance company that we have will only pay for the generic. When on group plan, I didn't care - but now...... Anyone else experience this? I am also on Lipitor, which have the leg cramp side effects??????

I was given Losec 9 months after an emergency intestinal resection. The gut pain was awful before taking the drug. Now after two months on the drug I have notice hot flashes and headaches plus bloating; although my appetite is much better I seem to have an abnormal craving for sweets and carbs. Is this normal?

I have been taking Losec for many years then was switched to Omeprazole. My GERD has seemed to have worsened I always experance thirst, but the most worrying thing is that I get these choking attacks where I seem to be suddenly choking on nothing. It can happen any time not only when I am eating or drinking, even if I am resting quietly. I also experance a sudden increase in my heartbeat, at such a time my heart will suddenly and seemingly without cause start to pound this can continue for some time and leave me exhusted and often with a headache, these two last symtom accure together. Is there any one else with these symtoms (side effects)?

I changed from prevacid (which gave me facial pimples) to losec (Omeprazole). Now I am getting same reaction from losec after 1 month's use or so. Prevacid was also ok for the first little while. Any comments? Is this a common reaction?

I took prescribed Losec (omeprazole) to control occasional heartburn for two years. After taking 20mg per day for 2 to 3 days I notice an occasional skipped heartbeat. I stop taking omeprazole and within 1-2 days this side-effect goes away. Two weeks later, I take omeprazole and go through the same cycle. I have thus experimented for two years before switching to zantac. There is no doubt in my mind that Losec causes temporary arrythmia and heart patients should be thus warned.
