Omnicef and leg pain

My doctor gave me omnicef for a sinus infection and I must say that I felt much better before the I started the medicine. From the first day I had most of all the side effects, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, no appetite, but no muscle/joint pain. However, since I finished the last pill, I have been experiencing extreme right leg pain in the hamstring area and below. Actually, my whole leg hurts like heck! I have been doing leg exercises and taking ibuprofen, but how long must I do this. It has been going on for 2 1/2 weeks now. I too will never take this medicine again. I am not even sure that it even helped my sinus situation, but if it did, it also caused way more problems than I had or ever expected.

57-year-old female. I took Omnicef Feb 2 thru 11 for sinus infection. Diminished appetite and leg pain at night. I got back my appetite immediately upon finishing the 10-days, but the leg pain is getting worse. It only happens only at night right now, mostly in my hip, knee, & ankle, causing pain to radiate from hip to foot. Now I'm sitting up in the middle of the night & the pain has subsided, but now my leg is tingling. Also some mild numbness in thigh.

Six year old patient. Omnicef taken for ear infection. Child experienced stomach pain and leg pain, throughout both legs. Two days after stopping drug (mid-prescribed time of 8 days), leg pain has dimished to primarily the joints.

It's the 8th day our 3 year old child has been using Omnicef (after a 10-day amoxicilin that didn't work), and it's been only getting worse and worse. No you're not crazy, she is complaining about leg pain. She is constantly crying and she usually never cries or even whines. So this must be definitely a side-effect of this drug. We will cut this drug off today (will not complete 10 days) and will tell our doctor about all this. However, they usually don't take complaints seriously when we mention we read it on the Internet. On the contrary, we're getting real complaints from real people with real pain.

I took omnicef for about 8 days for a sinus infection. Noticed my left hamstring was hurting. My Dr & pharmacist both said this isn't a side effect for this drug. I took it for a few more days, then stopped because of my leg pain. They checked me for blod clots & it was negative. 3 days after stopping this drug, I still have the leg pain & I'm convinced it is from omnicef. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has had this problem since the Dr's think I'm crazy!
