Ovcon and cramps

Since taking Ovcon for 3 months I have had severe severe cramping that keeps me up all night long my periods are so heavy..I feel strange since I started taking these pills...I am never taking this mess again..I stopped taking them on my own because I had insomnia real bad & the cramps were so intense the 1st & 2nd day of my period..I thought somethhng is not right.I would not recommend this B.C. Pill to anyone

I was originally on ovcon 25 and was raised to ovcon 50 two weeks ago because I have bad problems with ovarian cysts. My doctor raised my dosage hoping to arrest the cysts and ever since I have felt very bad. I have been bloating up a lot, eating and having strange cravings, and horrible cramps but not near my ovaries..its strange....it can only be described as around my cervix. I did have a leep last january that strangely is not healed and it was really not hurting in that area until my doctor raised my ovcon dosage. I dont know..it is very confusing. If anyone else has strange side effects or has any info for who this may be doing this or have the same thing going on...please email me. thanks ya'll! hope this helps. I started taking Ovcon 35 in March, and only bled for a day. I haven't missed any and my periods supposed to be here and I have yet to see it. I don't think I'm pregnant, as i haven't missed any pills, just don't know what to think. I do/have cramps and breast tenderness though. Anyone else having these symptoms?

I was prescribed Ovcon 35 for ongoing bleeding associated with endometriosis. I have had the mild headaches, EXTREMELY tender and bloated breasts and stomach upset others have described but can live with it. One of my concerns is that even WITH endometriosis, I have never really experienced bad cramps. After being on this for only three weeks, my cramps are really pretty bad. Secondly, I have gained three to four pounds. I am willing to stay on this and see if my body adjusts. It has helped my bleeding tremendously (so far) and I have not had the PMS symptoms I typically do. My main concern is the weight gain. Does your body adjust to it and the side effects lessen over time? I can stand just about anything but the weight gain. Oh, and by the way...I have been on a few different birth control pills for close to 20 years and have NEVER had side effects until this one.

I am on pill 11 today and this has been the worst 11 days of my life. I have had cramps and bleeding but the worst part is the mood swings. I am ILL at everyone. I am coming off these pills as soon as i get a call back from my DR.

I am finishing up the active pills for my second month this Sunday. I began the pills the sunday after my period, and about a week later I began cramping badly and bleeding heavily. The heavy bleeding lasted only a few days, but I continue to "spot" through the entire month, everyday. I did have a heavier flow during the last part of the pack. I guess that was my period? It finally stopped when I began the new pack, but I the same cycle continued this month. The term breakthrough bleeding does not do it justice. It is more of a brownish red, thick discharge or a deep purple stringy gel. Cramps are random, some nights I will wake up with horrible cramps but not be bleeding heavily. I also have severe back pain about once a week.

I also started to take OVCON35 a month ago, I just started on my second set of pills and was going on week 2 when I decided to stop taking them. My main reason for taking them wa sbecause I always have very bad cramps on my first day of period, but been on OVCON is like Groundhog day, my first day repeats over and over again. Cramps all over, even worse than before, and mood swings at work and home, its very bad.

I have decided that I'll rather have one bad day of menstruation that I can make better by taking advil or tylenol than to be miserable and having to worry about bleeding unexpectanly.

Maybe we should all place a Law-Suit.

I HAVE BEEN ON OVCON FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF NOW AFTER TRYING OTHER PILLS AND FAILING TO REGULATE MY PERIOD. THIS ONE STARTED TO WORK. MY BLEEDING WAS LESS HEAVY(I WAS A SEVERE BLEEDER) AND MY CRAMPS WERE TONING DOWN ( I SUFFERED FROM SEVERE CRAMPS EVER SINCE I GOT MY FIRST PERIOD) BUT NOW THINGS ARE STARTING TO BE DIFFERENT. I HAVE BEEN TEMPERMENTAL LATELY AND VERY ANGRY. I HEARD THAT WHILE ON BIRTHCONRTOL PILLS, YOU EXPERIENCE SOME SIDE EFFECTS AS IF YOU WERE PREGNANT E.G. THE EATING HABITS AND NAUSEA. BUT I AM HUNGRY ALL OF THE TIME. I GET REALLY SICK IF I DON'T EAT. HALF OF THE TIME I CAN'T EAT WHAT'S IN FRONT OF ME. I FEEL SO NAUSEAED AT TIMES TO WERE I JUST WISH WHAT EVER IT WAS WILL JUST COME OUT. I'M TIRED ALL OF THE TIME. I'M CALLING MY GYN IN THE MORNING BECAUSE IT HAS GOTTEN OUT OF HAND NOW. I JUST HOPE THAT SHE CAN LET ME KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS.

I have been on Ovcon 35 for 1 1/2 months now. My period FINALY seems to be getting normal. I was very,very messed up after I had my daughter. This is my 5th pill in a year 1/2!! They said if this one didn't work I had to get off bc for a while to let my body heal. But I am noticing cramps & lower back pain like you would when you start your period(it's been acouple days now) but I m not due to start for another 2 weeks. Is this normal & I just dont remember what it's like to be normal? I am having a flash back of when I first found out I was pregnant...Fill me in,lol!

I have been on Ovcon for 3 weeks now and have been bleeding the entire time, have cramps, gained 5 pounds, have huge painful breasts and my emotions are out of control. My doctor says stick with but what is the point. I feel more miserable than before I statred taking it. At least then the pain, moodiness and water wieght only was for a few days, versus all the time. After reading all the other entries I am going to stop taking Ovcon.

I HAVE BEEN TAKING OVCON-35 FOR 3 1/2 WEEKS NOW. I WAS GIVEN THIS RX TO REGULATE MY CYCLES SO THAT I MAY HAVE A CHANCE OF PREGNANCY IN THE UPCOMING YEAR. I HAD TAKEN OVCON LAST YEAR FOR EXACTLY 3 MONTHS AND HAD ONLY CRAMPING AS A SIDE EFFECT. THIS TIME AROUND, I AM ONLY ON MY FIRST PACK AND HAD FIRST STARTED SPOTTING EVERY OTHER 3-4 DAYS. NOW I AM HAVING A FULL BLOWN CYCLE. I AM EXPERIENCING LOSS OF APPETITE IN THE EVENINGS, TENDERNESS OF BREASTS, FATIGUE, MAJOR CRAMPS ( WHICH I'VE NEVER REALLY HAD IN MY LIFE) AND ITCHINESS UNDERNEATH BOTH BREASTS. THE ACNE ON MY FACE SEEMS VERY CALM AND HARDLY ANY BREAKOUTS. I WILL CONTINUE TO DO THIS REGIMINE FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS UNTIL MY 3 MONTH FOLLOW UP WITH MY DOCTOR.

this is my third month on ovcon 35 and i am completely unhappy with it.i was previously on orth-tricylen lo and i never had the problems i do now. i have been experiencing night sweats and problems sleeping, hot flashes throughout the day, weight gain, minimal hair lose, severe mood swings and depression-simply not feeling like me. the abdominal pain and cramping are horrible--cramps are worse now than before i was on the pill. i will definitely be switching.

I have been on Ovcon for four months now. This is the second month, in a row, that I have been on my period for 2 weeks. Last month it was light spotting the first week into a new pack, after a normal period. This month I have had a full blown, cramps and all second period. My period stopped as normal and I started a new pack, then a week into the pack my period started again and has not stopped. I didn't miss any pills or anything. UsuallyI have a very light period, but this unexplained period is painful, very heavy and I'm extremely bloated.

I was on Ovcon 35 for a few yrs. then I had 3 cyst so my doc. put me on Ovcon50 because it is strong, I hate it I have depression bad!!, mood swings, I get about 4-5 hours a sleep at night, leg pain, fatigue, alot of anxiety, cramps and heavy bleeding, Which I never had before, and I want to gain weight and I gained about 5 pounds which isn't bad for me, and my boobs got one cup bigger, I'm consulting my doc. about it and switching, this sux !!!

I've been taking Ovcon 35 for 2.5 months now. I was put on the pill due to a cyst that had burst, and in hopes to regulate my cycle for a better chance to get pregnant. I have gained weight, have really tender breasts, bad rash on my legs, headaches, nausea and I am tired all the time. I do now get my period every month always on the week of the green pills, but now its heavier and lasts longer than it used to and the cramps are sometimes very painfull. The only things that are really bothering me about this pill is the rash on my legs and the being tired all the time. No matter how long I sleep I always feel like I havent slept in days. My sex drive has increased a whole lot, but I cant complain about that. I havent really noticed an increase in breast size but I do notice that when they are really tender they feel different, and sometimes the tenderness feels like aching muscles. Like I was weight lifting all day.

I've been on Ovcon 35 for a month and a half now. This is my first time on the pill and i haven't had any serious problems.

The first week i was nauceous as was expected and the second week i missed a pill and i felt nauceous, dizzy and faint that day.

I see my period on time and it lasts for 4-5 days as usual. I used to have dreadful cramps and it's helped me alot, the only time i was in pain was the day of my last pill right b4 my period started but after that i was fine.

I also notice my boobs getting bigger and that was one of the main reasons i visited this site. I see i'm not alone and i dont mind at all. =)

I have been taking Ovcon 35 for about 4 and a half months now. This is my first time taking a BC pill. I have gained approx. 10 pounds, my boobs DID in fact get bigger, and I have no idea what is going on with my period. I get it in the middle, I get it on the green pills, I have no clue if this is normal or not. My skin is the clearest it's ever been, however and my cramps are very minimal. Besides the weight gain, everything else seems to be ook.

I am on my 3rd week of Ovcon. I experienced nausea for the first 2 weeks till I starting taking it with a meal at night. Lots of cramps, acne breakouts on face and back and crying spells. I started spotting on the 3rd week and have been spotting and experiencing cramps for the past 6 days. I have gained at least five pounds. I was on Ortho-tricyclin before and it made me even more sick. Hopefully the side effects will get better. At least the nausea has gone away.

I just started Ovcon35 about a week and a half ago. Haven't gained any weight, no emotional rollercoaster, but I do frequently have nausea, the last two days my left calf hurts (but i do go to the gym on a regular basis) and have/had spotting for the last 3 days, i have cramps like i would during my period. I read somewhere that if you spot early, it could be a sign that the pill you are on is not the right dosage for you... so, I called my gyn with my concerns and was told that it's completely normal (which i was aware of.. but 1) i hven't even been on the pill a full 2 weeks and i'm spotting already? and 2) 99% of woman i've know has ever spotted, and if they did, it was certainly not in the first month of taking the pill.

I have been taking ovcon 35 for about 5 months. The first 2 months were akward of course cause this is my first time ever being on birth control. Things were uncomfterable. Ive gotten my period on time every month and they are shorter. Only 3-5 days at most. The bleeding has slowed down and so has the cramps. But really the cramps havnt gone away. When im not on your period i get severe abdominal pain and my ovaires are constantly pounding. The first 3 months i still got nausa and discomfort. Now that im on my 5th pack ive noticed ive gained 8 pounds. 8 pounds of fat straight to my butt and boobs. My cup size went from a 32 B to a 34 C and my pant size changed from a 1-2 to a 3-4. I dont know if this is suposed to be the symptoms of this pill but i am sure within the next month or so im changing pills. It has made me change eating habbits and my body is very weak. I used to be toned and in shape and now i have lost intrest in everything. I am finding my self to be lazy and basicly a couch potato. I read that the other women have experienced wonderful results. I hope my personal experience hasnt brought any negitive thoughts about getting on the pill. It is great for someone who needs pregnancy protection and regularity of there menstrual cycle besides that i wouldnt reccommend this to anyone.

I have been on Ovcon 35 for about 6-7 months now and i missed my pill one day and the next day i doubled up and now i have been bleeding for the past week, its not heavey but its there... Apparently everyone is experiencing the same problems. I also have cramps on a regular basis... Is this normal???

I LOVE Ovcon 35. I've been taking it for the past 6 or 7 months, and I no longer get cramps, my skin cleared up so much my complexion is perfect now, my period is light and only lasts 3 days, I hardly even notice it..the first couple months I didn't gain any weight, but I felt a little sick before my period..other than that, it's great, it's the best BC I've been on, and I've been on Ortho-Tricyclen, Alesse, and a couple others.
