I had been taking OVCON35 for 6 months now. As with most horomonal birth control, I experiencED very bothersome side effects. I tried to continue taking them to give my body time to adjust, but.... I've called it quits because 6 months/ 6 packs of pills is ample time. I'd have intense migraines accompanied by nausea & dizziness. Had I visited this site earlier, I woulda have been given up on this product. It's not good that 9 out of 10 responses are negative. Pass the news along- I definitely will.

I just started taking Ovcon because my cycle is extremely irregular and this (the third try) was suppose to help...however, I have noticed hair loss and thought it might be stress as well, but I have also noticed weight gain, breast tenderness, dizziness and headaches. I am also experiencing all over body aches that I thought were just part of my day, but I have been looking more into it and its not, I am consulting my doctor immediately, if there is anyone with any other suggestions-please help!

I have been using Ovcon 35 for 7 weeks and I have experienced symptoms such as high blood pressure, migraines, dizziness, nausea, EXTREME fatigue, increase in appetite, confusion, slurred speech, loss of coordination, inability to wear contact lens, irritablity, leg pain and nervousness. I called my doctor and his advice was to stop taking this pill IMMEDIATELY. I have never felt this bad in my entire life. I thought I was dying or having a stroke. I am extremely sensitive to this pill, but did not show symptoms until the 7th week. This pill is not for everyone and can be exremely dangerous. I cannot even go to work or function properly as this pill causes confusion.
I urge any women to immediately stop taking this pill if they experience the side effects that I have. I feel as though I will never be normal again from the side effects of taking this pill.
I have stopped taking the pill for 4 days now, and my blood pressure has finally gone down, but I am still experiencing the other side effects.

I have been on Norethindrone for 9 weeks and just a couple weeks into starting these BCPs I noticed frequent and severe headaches. I very rarely got headaches before, but I didn't think anything of it. It's been 7 weeks since then and I've noticed and realized a lot of symptoms, but couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I just had a baby 4 months ago so I thought maybe these symptoms were related to hormonal changes. My BIGGEST concern is my hair loss! I have hand-fulls of hair, lost, after every hair washing. The rug on my bathroom floor is saturated with hair, not that I have brushed out, but what has fallen out after drying my hair with a towel. I have read you can temporarily lose your hair after giving birth up to about 6 months, so again, I thought my problems were due to hormonal changes. The following are additional syptoms I've experienced: haven't started my period, cramping/sore uterus, bumps/uneven skin on my face, sudden, severe, and frequent headaches, dizziness/feeling dismantled, large amounts of discharge, and hair LOSS. As a matter of fact, I have a Dr. appt tomorrow to address these concerns.

Depression, shorter periods, bigger boobs (but no weight gain elsewhere), and a slight rash on my face. Other than the depression s/e it was a good pill for me. I had to stop taking it after four months because of it. I've been on other pills that the side effects were alot worse: weight gain, hair loss, dizziness, constant bleeding, etc.

Depression, shorter periods, bigger boobs, slight rash on face. Unfortunately, I had to stop it after four months due to the depression side effect. Other than that, it was a great pill. I've been on many other pills with alot worse side effects: weight gain, hair loss, dizziness, etc.

I started birth control last July and since then I have been on three different kinds of pills. I first was on Zovia. While on Zovia I would get my period every other week, and this went on for six months. Second I was on Karvia, and it made me depressed and increased the cramps to the point where I couldn't walk. My Dr. then switched me over to Ovcon 35 and I am just ending my second pack. I have had nothing but trouble with this Pill.

I have had: sudden horrible headaches, a change of appetite, lack of energy, depression, bloating, stomach cramps, constipation, dizziness, loss of appitite- to the point where i couldnt tell if i was hungry or full, missed period, nausea, and I have gained weight.

It got so bad that I freaked out thinking that I was possibly pregnant and I took a test only for it to be negative. (Thank God). Hopefully switching to Yasmin will be better for me.

I have been using ovcon for 3 weeks now and it has been no picnic. I have had severe headaches, nausea, pain and swellin in my left eye, cramping (so bad i too thought i may have had an ulser) sore throat, dizziness, constant thirst and weak, yet unable to eat. I even went to the emergency room thinking that something more serious was wrong.

MAYBE THIS DRUG SHOULD BE FURTHUR INVESTIGATED!!!

I never had any of these problems while on ortho-tri cyclen.

I'm currently taking Ovcon 35 and so far the only side effects i've had are dizziness and a little bit nauseous. I read some of the other side effects people have been having and I really hope I don't gain any weight. I've been taking it for 1 month now. I did read about the girl that thinks her boobs are getting bigger.. I hope mine do that! LoL

I am 43 years old, have had a tubal ligation but am taking Ovcon-50 for the first time because of endometriosis and frequent, very heavy, periods. I am now three weeks into the first month, and have been experiencing fatigue, interrupted sleep/vivid dreams, nausea, irritability, dizziness and dehydration (I've had to have IV fluids at an Urgent Care facility twice in the past week). Is any of this normal with the use of this drug? I don't want to stop it yet because I want to see how it affects my menstrual cycle, which has been a nightmare. However, these symptoms are serious and I am wondering if it is due to the drug. My PCP has gone on vacation, so I am kind of stuck right now.

I have been on BC pills (Desogen) for years. A few mos ago I started taking Ovcon 35 to try to shrink an ovarian cyst. It did not work so I started Ovcon 50 about a week ago. Since then I have been experiencing bad side effects such as severe mood swings (almost like being manic/depressive) sleeplessness, nausea, dizziness, and headache. Is this normal, because I think I am going to stop taking these and go back to Ovcon 35 (which was great).

I started taking ovcon-35 almost 3 months ago and for the first month i had irregular bleeding, the 2nd month everything was fine, and now i'm experiencing intense dizziness and fatigue. I was tested for anemia and that came back negative, i'm awaiting my results for mono, and if that comes back negative i was wondering if it could be from the pill. Is this a known side effect?

I've had Fibromyalgia for a long time. The #1 thing, is to have a positive attitude. Get info. about this disease. Get moving. Start out slowly. Do what you are able to do, nothing more and nothing less. I know its hard to keep moving. But if u dont, ur stuck with no life. I've been down this road too. Get some physical therapy. I have found, for me, that pool therapy is the best. I dont have as much gravity to deal with in a swimming pool. The water seems to hold u up. Get involved in som...

Hi Guys I have been suffering from chronic daily headaches since March 2006. Have been to 4 neurologists and they all confirm that there is nothing seriously wrong with me neurologically and they put it down to stress. I have tried herbal remedies, acupuncture, body stress release, dietician, exercise, pain killers, massage, physio, posture modifying appliance, bean bags and oils, ice pack, pilates, chiropractor, daily meds like inderal and trepiline and still, nothing has been able to give me long te...

I was given the fantastic news that my body doesn't like itself anymore. I don't know when it had a falling out, but all I can say is the course of action to remedy this disease is CRAZY. Taking meds that have more side effects and the restrictions on my daily life, because of the meds, no driving, no salt, no sugar, and little fat in my diet, very little sun. Bathing in skin moisturizer, moodiness, mental confusion, can't work, but expected to continue cooking for family, and cleaning. Which I guess ...

My partner insists that he's not drunk & he's just very tired. He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?
