I have been on Ovcon35 for about 8 months and have experienced the effects as everyone else. I started taking it to eleminate my periods b/c of endometriosis and I have only not had any problems for six weeks out of the 8 months. Since mid October I have not had any sign of bleeding for only five days out of almost two months. This is not normal I'm making an appointment with another ob/gyn to get a second opinion. This is driving me crazy and my husband is getting impatient.

I have been on birth control for about 4 years now. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis the worst stage there could possibly be. I have been on the Ovcon 50 for 2 years this birth control has helped me keep the endometriosis under control. However, since I started taking this birth control I started noticing a lot of changes in my body, I gained about 15 lbs, I have terrible headaches, break through bleeding, fatigue, very moody, bloated, and the worst is the lack of sex drive . I mean, it is completely gone. I can only blame this on the Ovcon. I made an appointment to talk to my doctor about this situation because it is something that is ruining my personal life.
I forgot to mention that I am on this pill continuously; I do not have periods, so the break through bleeding is normal.
My partner and I have been trying to figure out what has caused me to become who I am now. I blame this on the Ovcon and when I go see my Doctor, I am asking him to give me a different type of birth control. When I look back, I see that since I started the Ovcon 50 my life has changed, I was trying to blame this on my Endometriosis. I am 100% sure; Ovcon is causing me all the side effects I have. I would not recommend anyone to take this pill

I was prescribed Ovcon 35 for ongoing bleeding associated with endometriosis. I have had the mild headaches, EXTREMELY tender and bloated breasts and stomach upset others have described but can live with it. One of my concerns is that even WITH endometriosis, I have never really experienced bad cramps. After being on this for only three weeks, my cramps are really pretty bad. Secondly, I have gained three to four pounds. I am willing to stay on this and see if my body adjusts. It has helped my bleeding tremendously (so far) and I have not had the PMS symptoms I typically do. My main concern is the weight gain. Does your body adjust to it and the side effects lessen over time? I can stand just about anything but the weight gain. Oh, and by the way...I have been on a few different birth control pills for close to 20 years and have NEVER had side effects until this one.

I have been on Ovcon 35 for 4 months. Put on it for continuous use to prevent endometriosis. I had minor symptoms before the pill. I experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding most of the months for at least 2 weeks per month. I could live with that if I really had to , althought very annoying. I have had slowly progressing depression (including insomnia, irritability and memory loss)until finally I had a manic depressive episode where I had suicidal thoughts. It took 2 days for the "fog" to clear and to realize that it was the damn pill. I stopped it immediately, obviously this is not a side effect I care to deal with. Feeling better already!!

I have been taking Ovcon for about 5 months now for endometriosis and very heavy periods. I have noticed extreme weight gain and also a decreased sex drive. I am on a cycle where I take the pills continuously for 3 months and have a period on the fourth. Is this the reason I have gained the weight?

I am 43 years old, have had a tubal ligation but am taking Ovcon-50 for the first time because of endometriosis and frequent, very heavy, periods. I am now three weeks into the first month, and have been experiencing fatigue, interrupted sleep/vivid dreams, nausea, irritability, dizziness and dehydration (I've had to have IV fluids at an Urgent Care facility twice in the past week). Is any of this normal with the use of this drug? I don't want to stop it yet because I want to see how it affects my menstrual cycle, which has been a nightmare. However, these symptoms are serious and I am wondering if it is due to the drug. My PCP has gone on vacation, so I am kind of stuck right now.

I took Ovcon 50 for 3 years for endometriosis. I gained 30 pounds in 2.5 months. I have always been the same weight and have been very skinny. I was very overweight. People kept telling me it was my metabolism. Wrong. I stopped taking it and all of my weight came off. Horrible drug for anyone with weight issues.
