I have been on Ovcon for only three weeks, and am already considering stopping it. Within 5 days of beginning my first packet, my (usually clear) skin broke out like I have never before seen. My hair and skin are also remarkably oily for the first time in my life. Additionally, I have been experiencing minor pains in my ovaries, loss of appetite and have been hyper-emotional (bordering alreaady on depression). I have also been remarkably tired throughout the day, and am having trouble getting up in the morning, which is odd since I am usually an early riser. Are these effects normal? More importantly, do they go away once one has become habituated to the drug? I can't imagine going on like this.

I was only on Ovcon for 3 days and the nausea, diarrhea, migraine headache, loss of appetite, and utter exhaustion was enough to have me take myself off the pill. It's been 2 days and I've gradually gotten better but still have a fraction of the appetite that I normally do and my energy level is not back to normal either - probably due to lack of food. I also wonder if this drug causes abdominal bleeding as I have had black stools since being on it. These side effects were debilitating - couldn't work, couldn't function.

I HAVE BEEN TAKING OVCON-35 FOR 3 1/2 WEEKS NOW. I WAS GIVEN THIS RX TO REGULATE MY CYCLES SO THAT I MAY HAVE A CHANCE OF PREGNANCY IN THE UPCOMING YEAR. I HAD TAKEN OVCON LAST YEAR FOR EXACTLY 3 MONTHS AND HAD ONLY CRAMPING AS A SIDE EFFECT. THIS TIME AROUND, I AM ONLY ON MY FIRST PACK AND HAD FIRST STARTED SPOTTING EVERY OTHER 3-4 DAYS. NOW I AM HAVING A FULL BLOWN CYCLE. I AM EXPERIENCING LOSS OF APPETITE IN THE EVENINGS, TENDERNESS OF BREASTS, FATIGUE, MAJOR CRAMPS ( WHICH I'VE NEVER REALLY HAD IN MY LIFE) AND ITCHINESS UNDERNEATH BOTH BREASTS. THE ACNE ON MY FACE SEEMS VERY CALM AND HARDLY ANY BREAKOUTS. I WILL CONTINUE TO DO THIS REGIMINE FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS UNTIL MY 3 MONTH FOLLOW UP WITH MY DOCTOR.
