I was originally on ovcon 25 and was raised to ovcon 50 two weeks ago because I have bad problems with ovarian cysts. My doctor raised my dosage hoping to arrest the cysts and ever since I have felt very bad. I have been bloating up a lot, eating and having strange cravings, and horrible cramps but not near my ovaries..its strange....it can only be described as around my cervix. I did have a leep last january that strangely is not healed and it was really not hurting in that area until my doctor raised my ovcon dosage. I dont know..it is very confusing. If anyone else has strange side effects or has any info for who this may be doing this or have the same thing going on...please email me. thanks ya'll! hope this helps. By the way..I have stopped taking the pills and have no pain now. Interesting!

I have been on birth control for about 4 years now. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis the worst stage there could possibly be. I have been on the Ovcon 50 for 2 years this birth control has helped me keep the endometriosis under control. However, since I started taking this birth control I started noticing a lot of changes in my body, I gained about 15 lbs, I have terrible headaches, break through bleeding, fatigue, very moody, bloated, and the worst is the lack of sex drive . I mean, it is completely gone. I can only blame this on the Ovcon. I made an appointment to talk to my doctor about this situation because it is something that is ruining my personal life.
I forgot to mention that I am on this pill continuously; I do not have periods, so the break through bleeding is normal.
My partner and I have been trying to figure out what has caused me to become who I am now. I blame this on the Ovcon and when I go see my Doctor, I am asking him to give me a different type of birth control. When I look back, I see that since I started the Ovcon 50 my life has changed, I was trying to blame this on my Endometriosis. I am 100% sure; Ovcon is causing me all the side effects I have. I would not recommend anyone to take this pill

It has only been day 2 of being on Ovcon-50. I have been very dizzy that I think any minute I will just faint. Has anyone else felt this way? Esp so soon? Is this a common side effect?

I have been on ovcon 50 for about 1 year and a half. I really didn't notice the weight change at first. I have gained 35 pounds over the time that I have been taking this pill. I also never really put two and two together to realize the my sex drive has really slowed down. I had switched to ovcon 50 because I had breakthrough bleeding with ortho trycylen. I am going to switch to ovcon 35 now and see how that works for me. hopefully I'll be skinnier again and getting some all the time!

After taking ovcon50, I have experienced several back spasms. I have been taking ovcon 50 for 3 months. The severe back spasms started about 2 weeks following beginning the drug. I have never experienced anything like this before. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am 43 years old, have had a tubal ligation but am taking Ovcon-50 for the first time because of endometriosis and frequent, very heavy, periods. I am now three weeks into the first month, and have been experiencing fatigue, interrupted sleep/vivid dreams, nausea, irritability, dizziness and dehydration (I've had to have IV fluids at an Urgent Care facility twice in the past week). Is any of this normal with the use of this drug? I don't want to stop it yet because I want to see how it affects my menstrual cycle, which has been a nightmare. However, these symptoms are serious and I am wondering if it is due to the drug. My PCP has gone on vacation, so I am kind of stuck right now.

I have been on BC pills (Desogen) for years. A few mos ago I started taking Ovcon 35 to try to shrink an ovarian cyst. It did not work so I started Ovcon 50 about a week ago. Since then I have been experiencing bad side effects such as severe mood swings (almost like being manic/depressive) sleeplessness, nausea, dizziness, and headache. Is this normal, because I think I am going to stop taking these and go back to Ovcon 35 (which was great).

I took Ovcon 50 for 3 years for endometriosis. I gained 30 pounds in 2.5 months. I have always been the same weight and have been very skinny. I was very overweight. People kept telling me it was my metabolism. Wrong. I stopped taking it and all of my weight came off. Horrible drug for anyone with weight issues.

I STARTED TAKING OVCON 50 APPROX. 2 WEEKS AGO. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE GAINED 5 POUNDS. THE STRANGE THING IS I HAVE BEEN THE SAME WEIGHT FOR 5 YEARS. ALSO, I HAVE EXPERIENCED IRREGULAR BLEEDING & ABDOMINAL DISCOMFORT, WHICH I PREVIOUSLY NEVER EXPERIENCED. ARE THESE SIDE EFFECTS NORMAL?

I have been on Ovcon-50 for 2 months now, and feel just horrible! I am so down and depressed. I did not take the pills during my green pills week and all week long I felt like my old self again. I took my Sunday pill and woke up Monday morning feeling like I wanted to walk into in coming traffic. The only reason I haven't complained is because I am trying to get pregnant and the doctor said that I need a strong bc to regulate my cycles so that I can ovulate properly. But this is getting to be too much! I always feel drunk or like I am walking in a dense fog at all times. And I have no choice but to take the pill right before I go to bed because the nausea is so strong!
