switched to ovcon-35 last month... i had taken yasmin(with no problems other than some dryness!) for 2 1/2 years prior to this... i had a period, started ovcon on sunday start... i then had 9 days free of bleeding and then started bleeding AGAIN! I have now officially been bleeding for 11 days with no end in sight. i am also strangely hyper-emotional and feel bloated... i called my doc and asked to switch back to yasmin! i cant wait to feel normal again!

I switched to Ovcon about 6 months ago when I told my doctor I had no libido on Mircette. Well, Ovcon definitely changed that; in fact, sometimes my libido was out of control. However, my sex drive wasn't the only thing that made me feel aggressive. On Ovcon I was ANGRY at everything and everyone and I'd fall into a depression sometimes as well. I was also anxious. The mood in general caused so much resistance from doing the things I love to do most. I thought the anger was a product of living in Queens, NY, and just being annoyed at the people here, but it was so magnified; I literally felt like I wanted to strangle someone. Not only that, but I was working out more intensely and more frequently than ever and I was still the heaviest I had ever been. The weight gain made me frustrated, angry, and even more depressed and it became a vicious cycle.
My doctor switched me to Yasmin, so I would still have a sex drive, and to decrease the chances of gaining weight. So far, both my body and my mood feel much lighter.

I was on Yasmin for a month and bled for a month straight. I absolutely hated it! I felt really irritated by everything and just felt overall terrible. My doctor switched me to Ovcon, and I decided I was going to go back off the pill all together. I was having really, really having bleeding, so decided to get on the Ovcon 35. The first month was rough. I take it with dinner, so it was a little tough for the first few days due to nausea. Once I got passed that, I had some breakthru bleeding, but generally felt okay. I would notice that I would feel like I needed it about my last hour of work. The second month, I had very mild stomach upset the second day, but was good after that. It hasn't helped much with PMS, but has made a huge difference with my bleeding. So far, I cannot complain as compared to the Yasmin.

I have been on Ovcon 35 for about 6 months but I have always had breakthrough bleeding in late cycle, usually about 5 days before my actual period comes. The bleeding comes in full fledge and it's heavier than my normal period before I started taking the pill. I took Alesse before but I had breakthrough bleeding as well, so the doc switched me to Ovcon thinking the higher estrogen could help with the breakthrough bleeding. Ovcon actually made my periods heavier. I have done some research and realized that if women have late cycle breakthrough bleeding, they should try something with lower estrogen and higher progestin. I'm going to switch to Yasmin and see if it works.

I am on my second pack of ovcon, having switched from yasmin. I loved yasmin- no side effects, really light periods. With Ovcon I have experienced mild cramping, and now in my second month and the 3rd week of active pills, I have started spotting. If anyone had this side effect as well, about how long does this last? Or should switch pills again??

I started birth control last July and since then I have been on three different kinds of pills. I first was on Zovia. While on Zovia I would get my period every other week, and this went on for six months. Second I was on Karvia, and it made me depressed and increased the cramps to the point where I couldn't walk. My Dr. then switched me over to Ovcon 35 and I am just ending my second pack. I have had nothing but trouble with this Pill.
I have had: sudden horrible headaches, a change of appetite, lack of energy, depression, bloating, stomach cramps, constipation, dizziness, loss of appitite- to the point where i couldnt tell if i was hungry or full, missed period, nausea, and I have gained weight.
It got so bad that I freaked out thinking that I was possibly pregnant and I took a test only for it to be negative. (Thank God). Hopefully switching to Yasmin will be better for me.

I just started Ovcon 35 (this is the 2nd week) after being switched from Yasmin. I had breakthrough bleeding with Yasmin and about a 5 lb. weight gain. Now with Ovcom 35 I keep gaining more weight! I've been exercising every day and really watching what I've been eating and every morning the scale keeps going up and my jeans just keep getting tighter. I'm contemplating just going off of this pill any day now.

I suppose most of my side effects are the same as those listed below. I've been on Ovcon for 2 months after my doctor switched me from Yasmin for no reason at all! I had no problem with Yasmin! With Ovcon, I've had 6 full periods. By full, I mean, 11 day long periods followed by 10 days of relief, then another full 7 day period. It's awful. I've had horrible mood swings, bloating, cramping, and the last week of medicated pills, severe constipation.
This is an evil drug and I'm switching as soon as possible, hopefully back to Yasmin!

I've been using Ovcon 35 for 2.5 mos. now. I don't like it. I was on Mircette at first, but it wasn't strong enough for me. I had constant break through bleeding--weeks at a time for 2 mos! So I switched. Since I've been on Ovcon, I have gained about 6-8 lbs. I can hardly fit into some of my jeans. I feel like I'm retaining a lot of water. Today, I'm in the middle of the 3rd week of my pack and I had my period. Not just spotting--it's a menstrual flow. I'm going back to my gyno and I'm going to ask to switch to Yasmin.
