I've been on Paxil CR for about 13 days now for mild depression and social anxiety. I was on 12.5 mg the first week and now am on 25 mg. The only side effects I've had are slight nausea, yawning, and being tired earlier in the evening than normal. Since I've been on it, my tolerance is a little better, my self-consciousness (feeling like people are always talking about me) has slightly subsided and my feelings of guilt have gotten better. I've barely been on the drug for two weeks, but I feel it will help my anxiety and depression even more as time progresses.

I have been taking Seroxat for about 6 years now, for panic attacks and mild depression,at first i didnt like the feelings i was getting, but stuck with it ,glad i did coz they turned me into a very happier more confident person, very rarly get a panic attack now and i can even go out and get drunk without thinking im going to die,did not effect my sex drive at all, started remembering dreams for the first time ever. I have lost hair and i have put on a lot of weight but this could be put down to getting older and drinking ? who knows ,
I would like to stop taking Seroxat just to see if i lose weight , but I cant coz I know, after forgetting to take tabs for a couple days the cold turkey is horrible ,

I've been taking Paxil CR for over a year now for anxiety attacks and mild depression. I haven't had any problems with it until recently when my prescription ran out and my mom hasn't called the doctor to re-order it (I'm 17). I've had a chronic migraine for 3 days, dizzy spells where I have to hold onto things when I walk to keep from falling, nausea, difficulty breathing, and a racing pulse. I'm convinced these symptoms are withdrawls from not taking the Paxil for over a week. I, too, have had an overactive sex drive from Paxil. The constant feeling of being on the verge of an orgasm is truly annoying. Glad to know I'm not the only person with that problem.

I have been taking Paxil since October 2003, as I was suffering from panic attacks and mild depression.

After the initial two weeks of getting used to the medication (20 mg each morning) (I had to take a week off work as I was so spaced out, achy, shaky, feeling sick, sweaty), I found that my symptoms of depression and panic attacks eased off and have now completely gone.

I've been feeling great ever since. The only side effects I get now are the constant vivid dreams which are so real that I sometimes really don't know whether something has happened or not, I've put on a massive 28lbs which is loads for me as I've always been a petite size 8-10(UK). Every now and again I would experience what I would call a "judder".

I have started to come off the tablets (10 mg a day for a few weeks and then see what my doctor says) I am experiencing these "judders" all the time. I have also not had a period for six weeks - is this normal (I have taken three pregnancy tests so I am just waiting to see what my doctors says about it)??? I am also sweating a lot and feel very flushed.

I used to be on Paxil. I was prescribed this drug "to simply smooth life's edges." I didn't always feel like I was in a good mood, was midly depressed and suffered with mild anxiety attacks. Had feelings of being a little lost and confused and the littlest things would upset me to the point of tears. I was over sensitive about almost everything. Paxil was the best thing that ever happened to me during that period of time. It did exactly with the doctor said it would do. It is a mild antidepressant that will just take the "edge" off. I was taking 25mg CR and I only took them for a month and a half until I felt better. I weaned myself off with less and less dosage day by day. A few months later I started having similar feelings like before and took another 1-month session. Fixed me again, just like before. Took me through a stressful time and eased my feelings of anxiety until I was able to control things and pull through my mild depression. It's been about a year and a half and I haven't needed Paxil again.

I've read all of these postings and I was concerned by all the bad side effects. I had heard in advance about the decreased sex drive thing but I was willing to deal with it. Turns out the drug increased my sex drive. I just felt better about everything. Things that would normally bother me didn't. Anxiety attacks with scared feelings and shortness of breath were just non-existent. Never had any trouble sleeping and my mood swings were totally in check. Actually, even though I been off the Paxil for about 1.5 years, I feel like I learned how to control my mood swings and some anger. I am a much more rational person today than I was then. People talk about side effects such as lucid dreams, the occasional lose of touch with reality and weird feelings of not been all there. Are these really bad things? I am surprised this wonder drug is not illegal. I thought it was great.
