Percocet 10/325 side effects

I HAD KNEE SURGERY ON 11/02/2009. MY DOCTOR PERSCRIBED PERCOCET FOR THE PAIN. I DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO EXSPECT OR WHAT EFFECT THE NARC WOULD HAVE ON ME. ALL I KNEW .....IS THAT I WANTED SOMETHING THAT WOULD KEEP ME FROM FEELING THE PAIN. AT 1ST I WAS TAKING IT EVERY 8HRS & I WOULD WAKE UP IN GREAT PAIN. THEN MY SON READ THE BOTTLE & SAW THAT I WASNT TAKING IT AS PERSCRIBED. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKING IT EVERY 3HRS. SO I STARTED TO TAKE IT EVERY 3HRS & INSTANTLY I FELT A DIFFRENCE. (MY NOSE STARTED TO RUN) I WOULD BE (TALKING 1 MINUTE THEN DEAD SLEEP THE NEXT) MY SKIN WAS (ITCHY) ALL THE TIME (LIKE I WAS AN ADDICT) I STARTED GETTING (ABDOMINAL PAIN) (SEEING SPOTS) VERY PERKY THOUGH. THEN THE (CONSTIPATION) CAME. THIS WAS ALL IN A MATTER OF 4 DAYS. BY THAT EVENING OF THE 4TH DAY THE CONSTIPATION & ABDOMINAL PAIN WORSENED & I DECIDED I WASNT GOING TO TAKE THE NARC ANYMORE. I DIDNT TAKE IT YESTERDAY & HAD A (HARD TIME GETTING TO SLEEP) THANK GOD IT WASNT DUE TO THE PAIN. I DIDNT TAKE ANY TODAY BUT THOUGHT ABOUT IT SO I CAN GET TO SLEEP BEFORE 5AM. I have been taking perocect 10's for the last 1yr or so and it is very bad when I don't have them I feel like crap. When taking just one it is like taking 3more 10 min later cause it does not work as well from when I first started taking them. When I run out I am looking for them everywhere and taking other pain meds to cover the withdrawals. Man it is so bad feeling like that the runny noise,sweating,being angry,shaking, throwing up,shiting my guts out etc. I have a chronic back problem and I'm only 24yrs old. I have a very supporting husband who is there for me when I'm withdrawing all the time and I love him for that cause if it was any other man they would of left me hanging. I advice anyone who starts this pain killer to only take it when needed cause the chemical in the pill will mess your who life up and you will have some serious problems for realist is true but how I'm going to stop I will take a week out of my life to go to the hospital for help. Also there is so many other medication that can make you sleep.(PEROCECT'S WILL MESS UP YOUR LIFE SO DON'T GO DOWN THAT ROAD, PLEASE TAKE THIS MESSAGE SERIOUS THEY ARE VERY BAD, DON'T COVER UP THE PAIN GET IT TAKING CARE OF AND IF THE DOCTOR GIVES THE PEROCECT'S TO YOU DON'T TAKE IT CAUSE THEY DON'T CARE IT IS NOT THEM PLEASE DON'T).

I have been on Percocet 10/325 for 2 weeks now but i feel like they do not help at all I have been on Lortab 10/500 for over 5years they stopped working so my doctor put me on these I have had 7 back surgery thyroid removed because of cancer also have to have surgery on toes in about a week the only thing this med does is I feel nausea all day almost to the point of throwing up but I do not feel any pain relief

I was on percocet for 8-mos. for chronic joint and back pain. The Doctors never found out what the cause was and piled on the percocet. I was in heaven. It made my pain go away and I felt like the old me, happy and super friendly. I laugh now because I did not know at the time that I was on opiates. One day I was explosively mad at some issue with the kids and my wife gently whispered, "...hon, maybe it is the pills that are making you this way.". I was floored. Mt beautiful wife lovingly stripped me of all doubt that I was addicted, and that they were changing my personality. I stopped "Cold Turkey" right at that instant. It was horrible. I was in such pain! Every fiber of my being wanted to ease the pain just a bit. A week into my withdrawals (perfectly described elsewhere), the pain was gone. I remember the original pain being much worse....I was wrong. It turns out that when I got honest with myself, I could live with the pain. It was/is far better than needing to "Dose-up" before getting out of bed. I still have chronic pain, but I lost the monkey.

i was diagnosed w/non hodgkin lymphoma in 2006, back surgery since had chronic back pain docs say maybe for life i take percocet to ease the severe pain in which i have they have help me thru some serious pains meanwhile i can be myself and perform as usual limited that is

Sounds like withdrawal effects. Stay away from them for anything other than pain if you have an addictive personality. These are lesser forms of heroin, morphine released in the brain. The effects you are describing are absolutely withdrawal. If you take them for extended periods of time, you will find the withdrawal symptoms getting worse and worse. You will NEED to have a pill to get out of bed, when you SHOULD be otherwise healthy. Tolerance to the drug will build and you will quickly become addicted... If you have problems with alcohol, you are at heightened risk of opiate addiction, so stay away from it. (family history, substance abuse problems.)

If you are currently addicted to opiates, Vicodin/percocet/ etc. There are treatment options available. If you are feeling down after a short period of use, these symptoms will subside and you will be back to normal in a little time. If you keep taking them, it will only get worse and you may require medical treatment, IE: Suboxone/Subutex , methadone. Paths you don't want to go down. The high, eventually will NOT be worth the HORRIBLE, UNBEARABLE, withdrawal symptoms. You will have to take huge amounts of pills to feel 'normal.'

If your addicted to painkillers, get help. They retard your life IF your using them for recreational 'high' OR to maintain or avoid the withdrawal symptoms, post addiction. If you have legit pain, they are a life saver. But really unless you have a CHRONIC condition, you shouldn't take these any longer than your pain is present, until you are healed, or advised by your doctor.

Get with god, drink water and get a lot of sleep. Some people find anti-anxiety medication helpful for the mental discomfort (don't get abusive of that too, those withdraw symptoms can be fatal.) The addicted brain is damaged by the drug and MUST HEAL. If you believe you may be addicted to painkillers, there is A LOT of help these days. There is no excuse for taking opiates to 'maintain' normality.

I have itching, pain in the abdominal area, sometimes panic attacks, and sometimes drowsiness.
The pain I took it for has gone away now, but I still keep taking it cuz I feel like crap when I get up in the morning, runny eyes and nose, and an anxious feeling, with no energy. I take a perc and drink some coffee and I'm good to go. Think I'm addicted? I do.

I started having panic attacks while taking Percocet. I am a chronic alcohol user, and I am saying this just in case it rings a bell for anyone. I have since stopped taking Percocet (about 3 days). I was a habitual/recreational user ... meaning that I took them when available, but I did not always have them. Since my last dose, I have been having recurrent panic attacks that are very scary. They include physical symptoms (heart pounding, cold and hot flashes, feeling of difficulty breathing, sweating, shaking) - and the much more scary mental symptoms (fear of death, walls closing in, inability to think or concentrate, vivid dreaming, fear of people, etc.). It appears that some other people have had issues like this, but not everyone. Can someone share their story with me. Has anyone had similar experiences ? Do they go away at some point ? Is it withdraw (I am not sure since they started while I was using them - but continued after I stopped) ? I have heard that it just takes some time, but it is very scary. I get some relief by drinking ... in fact almost complete freedom from most of the symptoms, but I can't just drink all day. Please help.

Just one year ago I had a very bad car accident the doctor precribed percocet I was on it for one year.Just one month ago I stopped cold turkey and since then i am ngoing through panic attacks and anxiety.Atleast thats what doc diagnosed me with so i have alot of breathing difficulties.

I JUST STARTED TAKEING MINE YESTERDAY. I NOTICED DURING THE DAY. I GET CHILLS ALOT THEN. I CAN SAY IT HAS HELP ME ALOT.

Nausea, Itching, falling to sleep suddenly

Vomited 3 times already had surgery at 11:30 on my (L) foot and (L) hand. I get woosie.

whenever i take a percocet, i feel pretty nice and really happy, and my nose gets really itchy... but its a good itchy lol

vomitting, and a red rash on the face.

Dizziness, nausea, cold & clammy
