PrednisoLONE side effects

My 15 month old daughter was given Prednisolone eye drops for pink eye, that was not the medicine the doctor prescribed but was given to me. I have been doing research on side effects of that drug and there are a lot... but the one that caught my eye was fractures and bone weakness. My daughter last week fractured her elbow and between myself, her father and sitter (the people that are always around her), we have no idea how that happened. There have been other side effects that she is having as well. I am not sure what to do. Please email me back with some information on what I should do.

Back in October last year i was having really bad pain behind my eyes - they hurt on movement. I went to my doctors 8 times within two weeks - he kept giving me pain killers saying it was a tension headache. The last appointment i had with him id lost the vision in my right eye - they eventually referred me to the hospital. After loads of tests and questions they finally put me on Steroids and strong antibiotics via drip and i had MRI scans but by then i had lost my sight completed and was told i would never regain my sight as my nerves were severely damage. After a week or so on Prednisone my sight was getting slightly better in the left eye which was great i could think about seeing my son again. I have been taking Prednisone along with loads of other tables one for my bones and nerves and folic acid and very strong painkillers etc for months. I tried to reduce my dose as directed and my condition got worse the pain behind my eyes came back and they they said i had C.R.I.O.N so now im back on a high dose and im also taking azathioprine. I have experienced all the side affects of this drug - Round Face (moon face) server muscle cramp - i was unable to walk for 8 hours a few weeks ago i was in so much pain. Terrible bad back - shoulder blades hurts. Terrible spots. Really bad heaches. Eye pain. Water retention. Sleeping problems. Mood swings. Theres to many to list. This drug helped me regain my sight but i cant wait for the azathioprine to get into my system so i can start to reduce the steroid and start loosing some weight and get rid of all the other side affects.

HI guys I was given pred at 60mg then over the next several weeks I tapered off. it is now about 3/4weeks since I took the last tablet. Whilst i was on them I developed quite bad hand tremors/shakes and since taper off to a low dose I have started with muscle twitches all over. Has anyone had experiences like these? And how long did they last?

muscle in legs are bad.not able to walk for six weeks. taking a long time to heal from surgery.

I was given a very short course (5 days) of prednisolone as my asthma was really bad & not responding very well to my inhalers. the steroids was to calm it down again which has actually worked. However, I now have some severe mouth ulcers down one side of my tongue which is making eating & drinking very painful.( speaking is not that great either but family thinks thats great lol). has anyone else had these ulcers?

Loss of short term memory

Weight gain of 2 stone in 9 monthe of taking the prednisolone. Did start on a high dose of 40mg initially. Weight has affected trunk area of body and caused cushingoid appearance. As a result I have become depressed and don't want to go out anywhere!

what are the side effects of Prednisolone 20mg per day for six year old child

Rash Like pimples around nose chin mouth and eyes

Are these side effects for long term use?????? I have just been put on Predisone for a bad skin condition, "Granuloma Anulari" but only for 30 days. Will I get side effects that soon? Do any of you out there have this skin problem and been put on Predisone for it????????? Results???????

massive weight gain...mood swings...early change of life...noticible swelling of the face and jowel area. Puffiness around eyes...very low libido

Developed catarects in both eyes.
Eyes and nose water continually.

Thin and dry skin.
Bloated jowls and neck.
