PredniSONE and struggle

Hello, I was put on Prednisone for 12 days and made it through 11. It's been about 11 days since I've taken it and I'm still having symptoms. I have such bad anxiety and depression, mostly after dinner. My heart rate and blood pressure shoot up, and I have to pee every 15 mins. I had gone to the ER on the last day I was on it because I was having evil thoughts and crying uncontrollably. They told me it was probably steroidal psychosis and sent me to a shrink who now has me on Ativan until the Paxil she also prescribed me kicks in. Does ANYONE know how long this drug will be in my system? I took a tappered 12-day dose starting at 60mg. This drug may save lives, but it's really put hard times in mine. Any response is*****

I have had I believe all possible side effects for prednisone that are there. The one I am concerned about is the uncontrolled tremors in my hands/arms and legs that have continued since I have been off the drug. I have been on prednisone more in the last two years than I have been off of it. I have extreme allergic reactions resulting in anaphalaxis- thus the high doses of prednisone. Its just nice to know I am not alone in this struggle with this drug. Yes it saved my life many times but it is ruining my health- so why I know it is nessecary I still don't like the drug

hi. i just wanted to thank everyone for helping me through my prednisone withdrawal a while back. my moon face is gone! so it does go away. basically all of the symptoms have disappeared. taking the weight off is a struggle, but what's new about that?!? thank you for your support, kind words and encouragement. best wishes. sann diego

I have been on Prednisone for two years now. I have gained 80 pounds and can almost never sleep. I have to be on this horrible drug or I lose my sight and use of my legs. When I am on it I have some use of my legs and see. So I need to continue taking it. I take 30 mg. a day when things are going well. I take 100 when things are not going well.
If anyone has been on this drug and been able to maintain weight please let me know. I hate being fat and long to wear the clothes I own. I hate shopping for clothes cause I am so so so very fat now. I struggle lots with depression not sure if it a side effect but I know I work hard to find good things about myself. I use to wear a size 4 or 5 now I am a 20 or 22. I have all the support in the world but still feel like I am useless. I can not do anything AND I am fat.

Update on Weight-loss....

I left a post a few days ago about my struggle w/losing weight. I was so frustrated about this and since nobody wrote anything on this matter, I went to see my Doctor. She said that after Prednisone some people develop Diabetes and a sign of this disease is retention of liquids in a cellular level. She prescribed me water pills and in fact I lost 2 lbs in 2 days, my belly and arms are noticeably deflating and I'm glad to now it was water retention...however, it remains to be seen if I have diabetes 'til next week when the results come back. Gosh, it seems that the struggle never ends! I was worried about weight and now I have to worry about something even worse, that may change my life for the rest of my days!! The irony is that I was one of the healthiest living things on this planet and look what this crap of medicine has done, is doing and will probably will do to me in the future!
