I have been on pred for 6 days after takin solu medrol dose pack for 6 days for an allergic reaction. The med helped the rash and itch immediatly but as soon as i taper down the rash is back full force. I dont know what to do I cant take the steroids anymore, I am a rotten crabby person on these, i have heart palpitations and sever muscle spasms, it has to be from the steroids. If anyone knows how i can feel better please let me know. I also urinate constantly and only sleep in broke up cycles with wacky dreams..........

I have been on prednison since l980. I was told I had steroid dependent asthma. I briefly had moon face. I was very organized. I even typed my honey do list for my spouse. I was "driven" to get tasks done. I had difficulty sleeping, muscle cramps, frequent night time urination. easily bruised on my forearms when I bumped into things, lots of 3 corner skin tears and recently had a bone density test and now I have to take Boniva. I did not gain weight. Over the last two years I went from 140 to 120. I did experience two very serious illnesses (Throtoxic with Thyroid Storm and a spinal tumor and surgery.) I finally weaned off about 3 weeks ago. I went from 10 to 5 to 2.5 to 1.25 then 1.25 every other day - very slowly. No asthma symptoms yet. At this time I fatigue very easily. I have lost subcutaneous fat in my forearms, feet and face. I still have some muscle cramps in my feet and somethings deep in legs. I am sleeping much better. I am wondering if the loss of fat has anything to do with the long term use of prednisone. Has anyone experienced or heard of this connection to Prednisone?

I've been taking prednisone for asthma for four days. The blurred vision is EXTREMELY significant when the page is saying call the doctor. I'm always thirsty, I cannot urinate, and I am sooo restless. I cannot sleep more than three or four hours a stretch.
I was on 60 mg for the first three days and now I'm on 40 mg a day. Tomorrow I start 20 mg a day. Should I just discontinue now while I still have okay vision? Or will my eyesite come back to normal after the script is through?
Someone please let me know. This is all new to me.

I started Prednisone due to a rash about 10 days ago. I've got a couple days left. It worked great on my rash, but now that I am titrating down from 60mg. I am having sideffects. Anxious, feel like vibrate inside I also get up to urinate 3 to 4 times a night. I've never done that?
Have the sun burn look since day one. But last night I woke with horrable pain in my knee joints. It was terrible. It is gone now. I noticed yesterday my knee joints felt tight or swollen??? Then woke with pain.
I will be glad when this is over. None of the pharmacy information says any of the side effects that everyone one seems to have.

I have been taking 120 mg every other day for Idiopathic Focal Segmental Sclerosis kidney disease for 1 1/2 months. I lost ability to read in my left eye and was diagnosed with Central Serous Chorioretinopathy. My kidney doctor told me this was very rare, but is now taking me off the prednisone gradually. I have had all the usual side-effects but the most bothersome has been the sleepiness/no energy during the day. I have been getting up every hour on the hour every night to urinate. Ambien was prescribed, but nothing really changed. I decided to try it without the Ambien last night. I actually slept longer getting up about every 2 hrs. However, I woke up with a terrible headache this morning. Anyway, hopefully my side effects will go away as he Prednisone is reduced. I can't wait to see what the next drug does to me.

ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF BODY WENT NUMB!!
I went on a low dosage of Prednisone about 3 weeks ago for sinusitis/nasal polyps. I was only taking 10mg per day. My heart was beating really fast one night last week and then the left side of my body went numb. I went to the ER and they checked my heart (it was fine). The numbing eventually subsided after a few hours. It totally felt like a STROKE! I then had to get an MRI on my brain. I took the results to a neurologist and the brain was fine, too. He says it probably is from the Prednisone. He is contributing the rapid heart beat and body numbing to this medication. He thinks it is causing intense adrenaline rushes. It has been a week and I am down to only 5mg every other day now. I still get the numbing effect now and then (especially when I lay in bed at night.) I haven't had any weight gain. But I am always hungry and have to urinate a lot! I want off this medication so bad! It is scary. I thought I was having a stroke! I only have a week left.

My doctor prescribed me Prednisone on May 3. I'm on 10 mg. I start out on 3 tabs 2x a day for 4 days, then 2 tabs 2x a day for 3 days, then 1 tab 1x a day for 2 days. I was put on this for a sudden attack of joint pain/stiffness/swelling of my elbows, wrists, hands, knees, ankles and feet. I was in extreme pain. So far this drug has given me no side effects other than needing to urinate a little more often than usual. My pain is gone, as is the swelling. I'm almost scared to go off this b/c of the fear of the pain coming back. My blood tests came back on Friday and my doctor told me that I had Rheumitic (sorry, I know that's spelled wrong) inflammation and if the pain did come back after I stopped the Prednisone that I'd have to do more blood tests. I just turned 30 and I'm scared to death what else might be wrong with me.
