I was taking 1-2 tablets of a generic brand of Sudafed for the past year to control sinus headaches. It seemed to be the only product that worked! My outcome was a severe lack of libido. Zilch..nil. I didn't even want to be hugged or touched. At 45 yrs old, my husband thought our marriage was over and began surfing the internet until he found what he wanted. I have not taken even 1 tablet since Oct. and all the libido issues are gone. I just control the headaches now with ibuprofen and rest. The marriage is in repairs now that he knows it wasn't him!

I have been taking Levall G off and on when needed, and it is an excellent nasal and respitoary decongestant. I accidentally took more than the prescribed dose one day and felt as if I were on Vicodin. I experienced a spurt of nausea but I drank some water and ate some crackers and then I was fine. After that, the Vicodin feeling started kicking in. I also felt very floaty. But it's hard with your coodination, so please, be careful. Just lie down!

Sudafed 12 hr. , took the generic brand of it. Was taking it around the clock, following the advice of allergy dr. Extreme irritability including road rage was the result.

Then, realizing I couldn't take it around the clock, decided to only take it on days when I had sinus congestion etc. Last night, after taking one of the 12 hr generic pseudephedrine tabs, I noticed I was talking my husband's ear off. Like, non-stop talking, wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise. I was not taking any other meds and could only be due to the pseudephedrine.

As a decongestant, it is great, and the price of generic is cheap. I just can't handle the side effects. will probably switch to OTC loratadine (Claritin)

I know that the stuff is supposed to clear the nose... but I use it to help me concentrate better at work and college; it gives me incredible focus.
I used to take Ephedra pills but those are now banned. Luckily pseudoephedrine works just as well. Typically I take 120mg with coffee in the morning (about 10am) and that will last until 6pm for sure (sometimes longer, hence my unfortunate "whiskey dick" experience).
Dry mouth, horribly bad breath, lots of urinating, difficulty in sqeezing out the last few urine drops, itchy scalp, and "whiskey dick" are some of the side-effects.

I took three doses of this medicine (as directed) over the period of a day. i started to feel light headed and got up to go to bed. I looked in the mirror and my pupils were dialated to almost the size of my irises. I laid down and everything started to tturn black. i elevated my feet but it didn't help. It felt like i had pins and needles being stuck all over me. All of my muscles tensed up at once and then whe ni was finally able to relax them i started shaking uncontrollably. I was so dizzy, I couldn't even stand up straight. I found out I am allergic to this medicine. there are no warnings on the label that this could happen. i think I may have been in shock. Be careful!!!

I take no regular medication, but in this last year I have begun furtively taking pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 30 mg per tablet, plus ibuprofen 200 mg per tablet, two tablets with breakfast, nearly every day. Within an hour my head is clear, I am calm, able to focus on my work or tai chi practice and feel benevolent toward the world. This continues for about five hours. No urinary problems, no hallucinations that I know of, just calm well-being. Doesn't seem right, somehow, but it's hard to give up simply on principle.

I have blood in my ejaculations (diagnosed as hemospermia) so much that I have begun to use a condom to prevent the mess... I have some blood in the urine but not visible to the eye. I have take 12 hour sudafed for about 2 years to keep me from stopping up at night. Is it possible that this could be caused from the pseudoephedrine hydrochloride?

Thank you.

I took prescription under name of guaifen pse er tablets on 5/24/04 28 tablets-Itook 14 7 days one every 12 hrs 120 mg. I was being treaded for a dry cough-after a day or two - I was urinating every 2 to 3 hrs instead of 4 to 6hrs my usual. Also it was very dificult to do so-I thought this was my prostate going real bad-as I had only been diagnosed as having a mildly enlarged Prostate-After I stopped taking all became nornal again-incidentally it was mixed w/Guaifenesin

After 3 days of taking sudafed cold formula, my 84 y/o mother-in-law began to experience hallucinations. The recommended dose was 2 tabs every 6-8 hrs and not to exceed 8 tabs a day. She was taking no more than 6 tabs a day. She does not have any comorbidities. Has this ever been reported? and how could she be treated?

After taking Dimetapp Day and Night cold and flu capsules for approximately 5 days, I have suffered vertigo-like symptoms. I feel very dizzy and disorientated. I wish I had just weathered the cold, perhaps I would not be feeling so awful.

I first took Pseudoephedrine HCl over 30 years ago while in the USAF, under the brand name Actifed, which at the time was prescription only. Within a day or so, I began to notice a blood-red rash starting to appear on areas of my body not exposed to light. Perhaps the areas were also the warmest areas. I returned to the doctor and was advised to stop taking the drug. Many years later, Sudafed was released as an OTC medication and when I tried it, the rash returned. It took a bit to determine the culprit was the Pseudoephedrine, but since then, I have avoided any medications with it as the active ingredient. The worst part is that the medication is otherwise extemely effective.

My 4-month old son was recently prescribed oral drops with pseudoephedrine hydrochloride as the main ingredient. Soon after, approximiately two days later his head and arms started shaking uncontrollably as if he was having a seizure. I took him back to the doctor who suggested I stop giving him this medication, which I had already done the day before. He is still having episodes of seizure-like symptoms even after being off this medication for four days.

I have been taking pseudoephedrine for many years for relief of nasal stuffiness. In the past 5-6 months I have been experiencing urinary retention, going to the emergency room once. I read the warnings of possible side effects, one being urninary retention--in men. I am a woman, no prostate gland involved here. In looking back at any of the symptoms and when they occurred, they occurred during the time I was taking pseudoephedrine. I have found no possible side effects listed referring to women having urinary retention. Has any other woman out there had this occur?

Well, I know that there are different effects for different people. But I was taking "non-drowsy" nasal decongesting Sudafed and man, this makes me feel good. It's not like it's addicting, because I only take it when I need to but this makes me feel like I'm floating. Also, its makes me yawn a lot. Here's a tip- NEVER, and I mean never, mix Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride with Ibuprofen.

I took 3 Sudafed in a 24 hour period (no other medications) and the following day was unable to urinate. Later minimally, then returned to normal. A week later I took 3 doses of cough medicine CF with pseudoehpedrine and had the same side effect. I couldn't urinate any faster than a leaky faucet. I can find no other occurances of this or similar side effects.

Was taking Sudafed for about 5 days for a nasel infection, along with Nasonex, and Calrenex. Though in retrospect, this was probably too much medication. But the day after I started taking this, I immedietly began to get feelings of anxiety, worry, fear, nausea, headache and dizziness. After 5 days of this hell, I stopped taking all medications, and probably never take Sudafed again. It has been about 2 days since I stopped taking the meds. and I am still recovering from their harmful effects. I dont know which is worse, having the nasel infection or dealing with the side effects of the drugs. I still have nausea, and slight head pressure.
