My 4-month old son was recently prescribed oral drops with pseudoephedrine hydrochloride as the main ingredient. Soon after, approximiately two days later his head and arms started shaking uncontrollably as if he was having a seizure. I took him back to the doctor who suggested I stop giving him this medication, which I had already done the day before. He is still having episodes of seizure-like symptoms even after being off this medication for four days.

Was taking Sudafed for about 5 days for a nasel infection, along with Nasonex, and Calrenex. Though in retrospect, this was probably too much medication. But the day after I started taking this, I immedietly began to get feelings of anxiety, worry, fear, nausea, headache and dizziness. After 5 days of this hell, I stopped taking all medications, and probably never take Sudafed again. It has been about 2 days since I stopped taking the meds. and I am still recovering from their harmful effects. I dont know which is worse, having the nasel infection or dealing with the side effects of the drugs. I still have nausea, and slight head pressure.

I take no regular medication, but in this last year I have begun furtively taking pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 30 mg per tablet, plus ibuprofen 200 mg per tablet, two tablets with breakfast, nearly every day. Within an hour my head is clear, I am calm, able to focus on my work or tai chi practice and feel benevolent toward the world. This continues for about five hours. No urinary problems, no hallucinations that I know of, just calm well-being. Doesn't seem right, somehow, but it's hard to give up simply on principle.
