My little boy who is now 4 has been off the Reglan for two years. I really thought my husband and I were doing the right thing by putting him on the Reglan at 8 months because he was vomitting blood. The gastric doctor said he had to be on it plus prevacid .Well I WISH WE HAD KNOWN THE SIDE EFFECTS. Now my son is in the process of going to a Neurologist next week because they think he might have Tardive Dyskinesia . He has the symptoms of it on and off for a year now and the doctors have said it is from stress not possible because all of the stress therapist we have taken him to say he is not stressed. I would like to say one thing do not put your child on this drug because it could be the biggest mistake of your life . This is a disease that can not be curred.

After taking 10 mg. of metoclopramide (reglan) with each meal and at night for two years and two months for reflux, I am left with tongue and toe movement, difficulty falling asleep, and a strange numbness in my toes. It has now been a year and a half since I last took the medication. I would love to know if anyone has found anything that helped. Whenever possible, I tell people about my experience, hoping thereby to ease my own self-consciousness but also to find possible cures that don't themselves come with side-effects.

My baby has been diagnoised with spit up reflux. I give her reglan 4 times a day four hours apart. She use to be a baby that did not cry often. Now, she cries uncontrolably and shake really badly. My baby's doctor insists that she need to remain on the reglan to help prevent asperation. I don't see a difference of her spitting up but now seem to have a cranky baby. I am not sure of what I need to do.

My GP put me on Regan for reflux, after 3 months with no relief he told me to up the dose to 4x a day. I suffered severe depression, chills, body aches, fatigue and panic attacks. Finally, after taking the 4x a day dose for 30 days, I suffered a severe reaction with stroke-like symptoms. My Doctor never mentioned these side-effects and I already suffered from manic-depressive disorder. I thought I was going to die from a stroke or heart attack the last day I took it. After getting my refill, I read the adverse side effects from the accompanying leaflet and planned on discussing it with the Doctor. Three days later I suffered the really bad reaction and It was only because I read the leaflet provided by the RX store a few days earlier that I was aware it was the Reglan. I flushed every bit of it and listed it as an allergic med on my med card. I should have never been a candidate for Reglan because of my manic-depressive disorder and heart disease. Be an advocate . . . research new meds yourself and don't rely on physicians or pharmacists to warn you of side-effects or reactions to other medications your taking.
