Septra DS side effects

I started taking this drug generic brand on 04/27/09 and today is 05/01/09. Luckily I work for oral surgeons, but I woke up with a very swollen and painful tongue and canker sore all in my mouth. I can't talk or eat or drink. I am soooooooooooooo miserable, this is one of the worst things I have ever had, I have severe migraines and I would rather have one of those instead of this. The swelling, throbbing and feeling like my mouth is on fire!!!!

I too was given a generic brand of Septra for an infected insect sting. I experienced a noticeable loss in appetite for the full 7 days and on the first day off the medication, woke with a light red rash all over my arms, legs and abdomen. I'm not experiencing and itch or discomfort so I haven't tried any Benadryl of cortisone cream yet.

I am taking Septra for a sinus infection. I am consistently, ridiculously nauseous all day and all night since within two hours of my very first dose. Taking this medicine with lots of or little bits of food, milk, bread, soup, peppermint tea, ginger, etc. doesn't make a difference.
Food smells make me wretch. I can't even wash the dishes because of the leftovers. Even simple mention of some foods makes me gag.
I also am sick when the road curves too much ahead of me, I see spinning things, and moving my eyes too quickly.
I have never been this nauseous in my life. I find it disturbing.
Vomiting does not relieve the sensations. My vomit tastes very bitter.
I suspect the accompanying headache is from dehydration caused by the low food intake and diarrhea.

My doctor prescribed this (actually the generic version - sulfameth/trimethoprim) medication to me to treat a bite that got infected on my foot. The infection went away, but after day 7 of taking this (out of 10 days) I awoke with rash-like bumps all over my thighs, that eventually started spreading to other areas on my body. Sort of like hives and a sunburn combination.
I've had this now for 4 days and started taking Benadryl and anti-inflamatory creams to control it. It slowly seems to go away now, but it definitley is a lengthy process.
