Have been on Seroquel 300mg for about a month now for management of bipolar. Was combined with Depakote, but the doc discontinued the Depakote. With Seroquel *only*.... Works great for getting to sleep, but. significant weight gain (like 12lbs in 30 days), dry/cotton mouth almost like dehydration, fatigue from simple tasks, mentally foggy during the daytime, loss of emotion, poor motor skills/reaction time, and restless legs. The foggy feeling I attribute to a long half-life with a residual effect carry over to the next day. Before this med, I was manic, but now into a mild emotionless depression which is a dreadful feeling. Saw my doctor today, and he said
to cut the dose to 150mg and said it is a wimpy dose. In my opinion, this
is a horrible maintenance drug for bipolar.

My freiends I have been diagnosed with everything disease a person can have over the past ten years. I have taken every single anti dep... and alot of other meds that make me misreable. I am convinced that most Dr do not have a clue what they are doing. Im not a Dr but heres a question. If the meds don't really do that much for you why are you taking them still. Ever notice how Dr will increase your dose and encourage you against your own will to stay on them. God the years ive wasted trying to medicate a problem that cant be medicated. Its a soul sickness.. I call it the hidden life of SELF. Dr say that we need to take care of it, we need to help it and we need to make it feel good. but I tell you this Self is a slave to all sorts of desires and lusts that carry spritual power over the faculities of my soul,,, Ie the mind will and emotion. are you one of those who is always doing the very thing that you don't want to do.. Have you ever wondered why,, have you every thought that it is going to take God himself to rid of the self inside that never has enough. Self is a bottomless pit. I do believe in mentel illness but I believe it is caused when a person fights in the mind and in there thinking and reasoning against the spirtual lust in the body. It is this battle that we will always lose ineviatably that makes us manifest the symptoms of mentel illness. there is a way out... THE CROSS AND THE WORD "GET IT IT AND EXCHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR CHRISTS

Positive: I get a good nights sleep.

Negative: I feel no emotion & weight gain. But I take with bromocriptine & venlafaxine. The venlaf.. & Quetiapine help the depression and insomnia caused by the bromo. I don't know which out of the three, or if the combination of all three, is causing me to some nights shake like I am freezing and my teeth chatter. But I have the heat cranked, three blankets on and i feel like I am sweating under the covers but I am still shaking like I am very cold. I don't understand that.

I am a 26 year old female. I have been on seroquel for about 3 months. Since taking seroquel I have gained about 20 lbs and seem to keep gaining. My breasts have gone up a full cup size. I also feel nothing, by this I mean I feel no emotion. I don't feel happy, sad, glad, or mad-- I feel like I am just here. I almost feel like I am lost- I can't stay focused, I can't complete a thought, it's almost like I'm in a constant state of daydreaming about nothing. I take a small dose of seroquel 3 times a day to stay calm and a larger dose at nite to sleep. It works as far as that goes but the weight gain and the loss of emotion concern me.
