I do NOT reccomend this drug! I had a sinus infection and was put on it 2xday for 10days. I was so nauseous I thought I was pregnant! The headaches were so painful I thought my head was going to explode, and was itchy , restless, achy all over and overall felt worse than if I had not taken anything and dealt with the sinus infection. HORRIBLE!!! Within minutes of taking it my eyes were puffy, I had shortness of breath, and odd heartbeats. What happened to good old fashioned Penicillin or Amoxicilin?! Never again will I take this drug!! I thought I could die!!

I went to the doctor complaining of a mild headache and being nauseous. After 5 days of taking this medicine (Sulfameth Trimethoprim) I am feeling 100% WORSE! This medicine has caused me to feel nauseous, moody, have severe headaches, loss of appetite, and my food all tastes like it has traces of lead in it. I was also prescribed Pseudovent along with a medicine to treat any yeast infection that might come as a side effect from the Sulfameth Trimethoprim. I am going to stop taking these medicines because I feel really bad. I wouldn't advise anyone to take these w/out seriously questioning your doctor about their side effects and any other options. I'll stick with Mucinex for any congestion and Tylenol Cold and Flu for those symptons.

My Dr. instructed me to take the medication twice a day for 5 days. About 15 hours after I finished the medication (on the 5th day), I was extremely nauseous and had diarrhea for 13 hours, which towards the end was a bright yellow color. I lost 4 pounds in 13 hours! I will never take this medication again!

Unbelievable! The more I read these entries the closer my jaw gets to the floor. I have an extremely conscientious primary physician who knows me quite well and I cannot believe he has me on this stuff. I've been on it for almost 6 days now and I am constantly nauseous, feverish, shaky and fatigued. And guess what else....since I can't eat I am going into these hypoglycemic fits which are exacerbating my pre-existing condition (panic attacks). I was prescribed this for a UTI and I am not even sure it has helped as I am still having lower back pain (kidney).

My 14 year old daughter starting taking this 3 days ago for a sinus infection. She now has extreme fatigue, she's very nauseous, has restlessnes, nightmares, stomach pain, tingling hands and she was afraid to go to bed tonight because she feels so bad. She says she's never felt like this in her life. I took her off this med and am hoping she gets it out of her system soon. I told the Dr. that my daughter is very sensitive to medication and then she gave me THIS?

I took this medication for a sinuis infection and a UTI. After one day of taking this medication I was nauseous and my body ached. At the end of the first day I noticed a rash all over my neck. The next morning the rash had spread up to my face. I did not take anymore of this medication after reading about the side effects. The rash has slowly started to dissipate. I realized that I was more likely than allergic to this medication. I will no longer take tis medication EVER.

After reviewing my record of previous reactions to antibiotics (because so many of them make me nauseous), I was prescribed this med for 20 days for an upper respiratory infection. I took for 5 days without any problems, I woke up on the 6th day with severe adnominal pain and nausea. Because my doctor was on vacation went to a different doctor in his office. Reminded him about the med I was on, but hadn't bothered me yet. He determined it was gastroentreritis probably caused by previous nights dinner, so he prescribed Nexium. But also had me do an upper sonogram to check for gallstones because by gallbladder seemed tender. The sonogram showed nothing wrong. I didn't take any medication that day. I took the Nexium and the sulfameth the next day (Saturday). I had flu like symptoms all day, aches and pains all over, face swollen, headache. I awoke Sunday with a rash all over my body, just itched in a few places, no apetite but thought I was feeling better. Thats when I started reading this site about all the side effects and deteremined the Sulfameth was the problem. Could not sleep at all Sunday night, my legs hurt so badly. I had other pains in back, arms, hands but my legs were the worst. I finally went to the emergency room at 4:30 in the morning because I couldn't take the pain. They ran blood test to determine nothing wrong. I don't think anyone believed it was a reaction to Sulfameth because I had taken for 5 days without problems. Prescribed Atarax and Prednisone for the rash (which was going away). Was reluctant to take any medication, but my doctors office confirmed this would also help the joint pain. I took and could feel a little difference, at least was able to sleep some. But still severe pain in my legs, took another dose of Atarax and actually woke up with most of the pain gone. I also had the vivid dreams. This was the sickest I have ever been, the pain was relentless.

I've been taking sulfameth for a week now for a sinus infection. I haven'nt gotten any better, in fact it occured to me today that the meds are making me more sick. I'm very nauseous, dizzy, and have a sore on my tongue. I'll never take this medication again.

I wish I had of read the side effects of this pill earlier. I just finished my last pill, and I was taking them 2x daily for 7 days. I was real fatigued, had dizziness and spells, at times I felt I was going to faint. And Im so nauseous, I was thinking I was pregnant. This pill is really awful, I will not take again.
