I'm on the third pill and am already experiencing EXTREME joint pain (knees and elbows mostly), as well as nightmares and a cold fever while sleeping. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to request a different medication. I was giving this medication for a UTI infection.

THIS IS A HUSTLE DRUG!! WHAT I MEAN BY THAT IS YOUR DOCTOR'S GIVES YOU THIS POISON AND YOU HAVE ALL OF THESE CRAZY SIDES EFFECTS,WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO? GO BACK TO SEE HIM.. AND WHAT DOES HE DO? RUN SOME TEST AND SEND YOU TO A COUPLE OF HIS FREINDS OR SAY YOU GO TO THE HOSPITAL 9X OUT OF 10 YOU GONNA BE ADMITED AND THIS DOES WHAT? COSTS YOU ALOT OF MONEY .. THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN OF THE MARKET... AND FOR THE PEOPLE WONDERING IF MEDICATION IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET WELL IT'S NOT READ UP ON HERBAL AND VITAMIN SUPPS GO TO THE VITAMINSHOPE AND GET A BOOK ON IT AND EDUCATE YOUR SELF ABOUT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM I BET YOU'LL CHANGE YOUR WAY OF EATING ... I was prescribed Sulfameth/trimethoprim because of a small infection on my knee after replacement surgery. From the very first pill I have been extremely irritable, the sight of most food makes me sick, I have sweats and once a chill, I have NO energy, nightmares and a general depressed feeling for 10 hours after each pill. I have 2 whole hours I feel normal until the NEXT pill. I am TRYING to stick it out for the full 10 days, since I was told not to discontinue taking it! I will be SOOOOO happy when I have taken the last pill!!!

My 14 year old daughter starting taking this 3 days ago for a sinus infection. She now has extreme fatigue, she's very nauseous, has restlessnes, nightmares, stomach pain, tingling hands and she was afraid to go to bed tonight because she feels so bad. She says she's never felt like this in her life. I took her off this med and am hoping she gets it out of her system soon. I told the Dr. that my daughter is very sensitive to medication and then she gave me THIS?

I was given this medicine for a UTI on Saturday. Only 6 pills, twice a day. From the 1st day I started feeling very weak, rashes and pain on my body, stomach cramps
nervousness, head aches, loss of appetite, nightmares,
sore throat, sores on my tongue, mood swings. I took the last one yesterday morning and today I still feel very sick and the side effects are just getting worse. I can not believe I wasnt told the side effects of this medicine. I never in my life (30 years) have experienced a reaction like this to ANY medication. I can not belive this was approved to be sold.

Sulfameth cleared up a serious infection in my finger that I was in the hospital for on IV antibiotics and morphine for four days. However the drug did have upleasant side effecs, bad headache, trouble sleeping, vivid nightmares, depression and anxiety. I was in a very black mood, felt like the world was ending, felt claustrophobic, like I needed to escape somewhere. I took a natural product, 5HTP, and that solved the sleeping problem and also helped with my mental state. Also added L-Tyrosine Plus from twinlabs which helped with depression.

A day after taking this medication, I developed an unusual, painless rash on my lower body. I experienced vivid nightmares, and actually ended up waking up in the middle of the night and crying. Towards the end of my medication, I developed a sore throat, and an unusual pain on the tip of my tongue.
