Well, I am on night three of my 7 day course, which I am taking for a UTI I didn't even know I had, and I have been going absolutely nuts the last few days. I was supposed to leave an hour ago to drive to California from Florida (It's 4:55 a.m.), but I am now having to put it off a whole day because I have been shaking, getting hot/cold spells, dry mouth, hands and feet sweating, nausea, gas, dizziness and just generally feeling yucky. I have not had a panic attack in almost 5 years - and I certainly never had one that lasted this long. But no matter what, I have always prided myself on being able to fall asleep. Tonight, I feel a bit bullied by this drug. I slept only two hours tonight, and still don't feel as though I can go back to sleep.

oh my gosh, thank God for this site. for the past 3 days i thought i going CRAZY. i had no idea that a pill for a uti could cause these kind of symtoms. i've had nausea, exhaustion (but i can't sleep), depression, and the worst panic attack i have ever had. i've taken the pill for 3 days. the first day it seemed to help. it made very tired but i thought i was just tired bc i had been so sick. the second day i was even more tired and very depressed but i still didn't think it was the drug. today i woke up and felt fine until i took the pill. i started feeling extreme anxiety and started to panic over everything. i've had panic attacks before so i still didn't think about what was really causing it. i tried to calm myself down bc i didn't want to go back to the hospital for the 2nd time in 3 days, but it wasn't like any panic attack i've had before. usually they go away pretty quick but this one lasted the whole day. it wasn't until i tried to go to sleep tonight and felt so extremely depressed and worried that i decided to look up the side effects of this pill. seeing this has calmed me down so much. i wish someone would have warned me of the effects, but i guess i'll know not to take it again! cranberry juice and water from here on out i guess.

This is one of the worst things I have ever taken. I took three doses for a skin infection and stopped. After taking the first one I felt extremely tired... then my limbs began to ache, I felt like my bones were replaced with lead and my head was spinning. Every time I tried to lay down and rest I was overcome with nausea and dizziness severely. I could not focus on anything or complete simple tasks without being fatigued and needing to rest. Later that night came the panic attacks or should I say a three hour long perpetual panic attack. I really thought I was going to die. Fortunatel(unfortunately) I had a few panic attacks back in college so I knew what I was experiencing was only a panic attack but it was one of the worst I've ever had.
I would not recommend anyone take this drug unless their lives literally depend on it, it's HORRIBLE.

I began taking this drug for a uti yesterday. After taking my fourth dose, I began experiencing a severe headache, nausea, cramping, uncontrollable shaking, complete loss of appetite, and the inevitable panic attack. My panic attack ended about 6 hours later. I was crying uncontrollably for atleast 2 of those hours. It was incredibly bizarre and like nothing I have ever experienced before. It is now 10pm, 8 hours since the last time I took the medicine and my mind is still racing and unsettled, but at least I don't feel as if I am not part of my body anymore. I would not recommend this medicine to anyone.

Was prescribed this antibiotic at the er for an ear infection. Had been taking for five days with no feeling of relief from the pressure and pain. on the fifth day I noticed I was shaking and shivering but sweating at the same time. My ears and nose became very clogged, my eyes turned bloodshot and felt a lot of pressure. I was very dizzy, had a very dry mouth was drinking lots of water and urinating a lot. Began to have a panic attack because the symptoms I was experiencing, after about five hours of this I started to feel a bit better. I did not relate this to the drug at first but after I took my second dosage that day I began to feel the same symptoms intensify, only my throat began to swell and I had trouble swallowing. I immediately took two benadryl as I realized I was having a serious allergic reaction. Went to the doctor the next day and was prescribed a different antibiotic, so eight days later I am finally feeling better! Will never take this drug again!

Have been taking Sulfameth 800/160 for 2 days now for a bladder infection and awoke this morning with severe nausea and vomiting. Feels like my stomache has butterflies. I have not been able to eat all day. Severe cold sweat. Feel like panic attacks.

Unbelievable! The more I read these entries the closer my jaw gets to the floor. I have an extremely conscientious primary physician who knows me quite well and I cannot believe he has me on this stuff. I've been on it for almost 6 days now and I am constantly nauseous, feverish, shaky and fatigued. And guess what else....since I can't eat I am going into these hypoglycemic fits which are exacerbating my pre-existing condition (panic attacks). I was prescribed this for a UTI and I am not even sure it has helped as I am still having lower back pain (kidney).

I was prescribed Sulfameth for an abscess on my inner thigh. I have been on it for two days now and the side effects are getting worse with every pill I take. I have felt racey, which has led to the restless sleep; I have had no appetite, no energy, shakes, panic attacks, depression, & mood swings. I definitely do not feel like myself. I feel seperated from the world, or like I'm walking outside of my body. I am running a slight fever every now and again too. There has to be something better out there that can do the same job but with fewer or less severe side effects!!!!

I was so scared, I had hot and cold flashes, my legs hurt, blurry vision, anxiety, panic attack. I stopped taking the medication and I called my doctor. If you are prescribed this medication think twice before you take it.

I just started today, about an hour after takiing my first pill I got a shooting pain inside my head, severe pounding chest and shaking all over, it felt like a panic attack. I took 2 advil and "walked it off". I'm very shaky, achy, groggy, and have slight headache, also itchy vagina but I've been taking Veetids before this so that may have caused the yeast infection. Noticable lack of appetite as well.
