Sulfamethoxazole and rash on

My doctor prescribed me this medication (3 days/2x a day) to treat a minor UTI. It did its job but now i have a horribly itchy rash on my feet and lower calves. Furthermore, I was already struggling with an eating disorder before I started this medication, and now it is way worse. It completely took away any appetite i had before

My dermatologist prescribed Sulfameth for a bacterial infection with manifested as a bad rash on my leg. After three days, the rash cleared. Since my doctor wanted me on a 21 Sulfameth cycle I still had to take it. After one week, I started to feel a little blue, like I was in a fog. I didn't immediately think it was the medicine. Then two days after I started feeling a down, I got really bad hives on my chest and arms. These hives wer of the pins and needles kind, not too itchy, but very distressing. I started having severe chills and my irratibility went through the roof. My neck and back were in pain. The day after that I called my dermatologist and he told me to stop taking the Sulfameth immediately. By then, the hives spread all over my body, and my eyes are completely bloodshot. I look like I have swelling and severe sunburn. At least I'm not as irritable and the chills are gone. When I had the chills it felt the same as going through nicotine withdrawal. Just ... AWFUL. Hopefully the rash will clear soon, so far it's only gotten worse.

I am taking bactrim for a rash that looked like a rash. This is the last days of taking the medicine and I started noticing that i have had headaches, mood swings, and a red rash on my ankle, side of knee, and pain in my arm, side, and legs. I am going to the hospital. I also feel fatigue, and dizziness.

I was so miserable while on this medication. I only took 5 doses and had a terrible itchy rash on my rear, ball sack and penis. Also had reaction under both arms. The worst thing was a sever sore in my mouth the size of a silver dollar. It was extremely painfull it bled and took a week to go away. I thought I was dying. As I got closer to a week of not being on it things did get better, but like another guy stated, my ball sack was on fire and a bit swollen. I had been on this once before and the side effects were minimal, but once you have been exposed, the next time you take it could cause severe problems if you are allergic, you could even die. If you can take something else, I would highly recommend not taking sulfameth ever ever ever.

I have been taking the med for about one week and things have gotten worse each day. I searched on the internet and found this website yesterday. I was experiencing extreme pain in my head, neck, and back. I was developing a red rash on my legs as well. It hurt to open my mouth or breathe and my throat felt like strep throat. I decided to go to the ER due to bizarre symptoms. It was a little similar to a really bad sinus infection. The Dr. checked everything and said I was completely healthy and had no infections in my body. He said he could not explain the fever and was concerned that it may be an exotic illness or a reaction to the medication. I quit taking the med and I am feelings much better. Why do people prescribe this terrible med, when there are so many other options for antibiotics?

I came down with a UTI and took this med, by the 3rd day I had a golfball size rash on my inner ankle that was so sore I could not touch it. I thought I bumped my leg on something and just didnt remember, but then I got on the internet to find out the side affects of this drug. My UTI was gone after taking the very first pill, and trust me, my infection was so bad, that I did not want to go to the bathroom at all because it hurt so much. After ONE pill? Its gone ! Now thats some drug! I of course will continue to take the rest, but if the rash thing on my ankle gets any worse I will stop and call my doctor.

My 7yr old daughter was put on this med becasue of a UTI. she took it for six and a half days, while on this med it took 5 day for the infection to go away, on the seventh day sick got sick at school was running a temp of 102.2 I took her back to the Dr. because to had a small red rash on her face by the time we got to the office it was all over her body. We saw the Dr. first thing in the morning by tea time her whole body was covered and I was told the headaches, vomiting. and temp was a virus but after I read everyones information I can see that the fever, headaches and vomiting was due to this med. I can't believe that I was not told about the side effects of this med.

A day after taking this medication, I developed an unusual, painless rash on my lower body. I experienced vivid nightmares, and actually ended up waking up in the middle of the night and crying. Towards the end of my medication, I developed a sore throat, and an unusual pain on the tip of my tongue.

My daughter who is 8 years old was prescribed this medication for a Urinary Tract Infection. She broke out in a painful rash on her chest, stomach, and back within 8 hours of taking the first dose. Since then she has been complaining of a bad headache, body aches, numbness in her mouth, and excessive thirst. We discontinued the medication after only two doses. I am really scared. I will be taking her back to the doctor in the morning. One thing's for certain, my child will NOT be taking this medication ever again!

After two days I developed a rash on the back of one leg and I had severe leg cramps in the middle of the night.

so far ive had a rash on my legs, ankles, stomach, and alittle on my arms for a few days, little nausea

I've been taking it for about a week and a half now and just today I woke up with a red spotted rash on my extremeties (arms, legs), and my stomach/chest area. I have a severe headache, joint weakness/stiffness, and each side of my neck is swollen but there's no sore throat. Only the glands feel very sore. When walking I feel nausea and have only vommitted once so far.

I have a rash on my arms, legs, waist and back, and it only became itchy the third day.
