On October 18, 2007 I started taking Symbicort. It worked GREAT!! As far as breathing better. About a week later I noticed upper back pain, dizziness, and nausea. I continued to take this inhaler. Then on November 5, 2007 I was rushed to the emergency room with a collapsed lung. (Spontaneous Pneumothorax) Still even after surgery I continued to use this inhaler until June 2008. When I finally thought may be it was this inhaler. I don't know to this day. I still feel strange from time to time. At the time of surgery I was only 35 years old.

I was using Advair, but kept getting sick. My doctor gave me a script for Symbicort, the 160/4.5. Worked awesome.......till the migraines started. Quit using it for a week, no headaches. Started using it again on Monday and bam headaches are back. Told my doctor, he said, that not a normal side affect. What's next?

I HAD BEEN ONLY TAKING SYMBICORT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND MY FACE SWELLED UP LOOKING ALMOST LIKE A SUMU WRESTLER , OR A BLOW FISH. IT WAS AWFUL SEVERAL DAYS AFTER I QUIT TAKING IT I WAS BACK TO NORMAL. AS MUCH AS THIS MEDICINE COST THEY SHOULD OFFER A REIMBURSEMENT FOR SIDE -EFFECT NOW I AM STUCK WITH A $180 INHALER THAT I CANNOT USE. VERY UPSETTING.

My nine-year-old daughter has headaches every 2 days on Symbicort. But with Flovent and other things we have tried, she has ended up taking 3 courses of prednisone over the winter.
Any other ideas? We are about to let the doctor know about the headaches. I don't know if it's worth it to continue on the Symbicort.
Maybe back to Flovent. We are hesitant to try Singulair or Advair, have already tried Pulmicort.

I started taking Symbicort 4 weeks ago. I'm an active person, eat well and I'm in good shape. I caught a cold a week after taking symibort. It seems that as my cold got better, I didn't feel like I could breathe any easier. Since I starte taking it, I've been real fatigued. I wake up very tired and I'm sleepy all day. I stopped taking it yesterday. I fell better today. I went back on Advair until I can see the Doctor to try another medicane.
