Synthroid and bloated

I have been on Synthroid for few months and had to rush to Emergency twice , due to heart palpitation and gained like 10 pounds in 2 weeks and stopped it for 2 months now , my blood test were normal, my heart palpitation went away, I am no more bloated... everything seems to be fine, but I feel warmness in my face and little warm throughout the body with itchy feeling, please help to get rid of warmness and itchy feeling...

I started synthroid about 6 months ago and I am unhappy. I complained to my OB about my lack on sex drive. He tested my thryroid and said it was the cause. I have always struggled w/ my weight but had it under control. Since I started a low dose of synthroid, I have gained 4 lbs (I am only 5' tall so this means none of my clothes fit) despite running 30 miles per week and watching my diet. My once thick hair is getting thin and my sex drive is no better. Also, my stomache is often bloated.

Had total thyroidectomy 9 months ago and started taking Synthroid immediately thereafter. For the last 4 months I have noticed significant hair thinning. I have always had very thick, healthly looking hair but now it's just dry and brittle all of the time. I always feel tired and bloated around my stomach area in particular. I have always been a size 4-6 but have inexplicably gained 6 pounds in the last month. Is there an alternative to snythroid without these side effects?

I've been on Levothyroxine since August 2006. Eversince being on them I actually feel worse. I've always weighed 7 and 1/2 stones and I've actually put on half a stone since last August. I watch what I eat and I exercise regularly. Recently I had an increase in my thyroxine to 75mcg and my tummy bloated so badly I looked pregnant. GP has dismissed all this and said he didn't know what it was! I spoke to a rude woman on the phone at British Thyroid Foundation who was extremely rude and unhelpful. She said it wasn't the medication and blamed it on my thyroid! How can it be me when my weight has always been the same? I've never had problems like this before and the more sites I've visited on the net, I've actually found that so many people are unhappy on thyroxine and a lot of them experience bloating and weight gain. so something definately is taking place inside us and the Doctors are ignoring it. Its this medication thats making us worse and we are their guinea pigs and in the years to come they will admit they are in the wrong. There are so many thyroid sufferers and it's all about fobbing us off on cheap stuff. Well all those who don't care about us may it happen to them so they realize how and what we have to go through every single day. I am looking into alternative natural medications and am trying to also change my diet to help. We are stuck cos thyroxine is for life. We are all in the same boat and we have to raise this issue. The good thing is we are all doing our research into this matter and more we are knowledgeable in this matter the better it is for us. I know Armour works for a lot of people but I can't take Armour.
From an unhappy hypothyroid sufferer.

I have been on Levothyroxene for 14 months now. I have been experiencing nightmares, a "butterfly" feeling between my chest and stomach, itchy skin, dizziness, and am still fatigued. My dose is 50mcg. once a day. that was upped from 25 mcg. a day as my TSH level was not within the normal range. Sometimes I feel like I'm feeling WORSE after being put on Levothyroxene. I also am still gaining weight and am constantly bloated, having bouts of diarrhea, and my blood pressure won't stay regulated. I am currently recuperating from a bad cold and the cough is hanging on. My other meds I take are Atenolol-12.5 mg. once a day and Xanax-.25 mg. two to three times a day. Is there an interaction between all these meds(I take them at different intervals thruout the day to avoid interactions)?

i started on synthroid around nov '05, 1 pill daily. had blood levels checked in january, dr. doubled dose. started experiencing stomach bloating shortly after, as well as some abdominal pain (which i think is from the bloating).
a few days ago, i stopped eating altogether because the bloating was too uncomfortable. stomach still bloated, feel like i've gained weight in my stomach area. very uncomfortable, even without any food in my stomach.
