Topamax and drop of a hat

Ive suffered from migraines for about 5 years and never done anything about it until i seen a neurologist and found out i had a brain cyst. (not deadly) She prescribed me to topamax for migraines and immediately i started feeling change, i was moody and had no appetite, memory loss, chest/heart pain, short breath, paranoia, angry all the time, would cry at the drop of a hat, couldent concentrate, dizziness and it felt like a cloud was over my brain, i felt nothing all the time.

Ive never been suicidal and one day i lost it, i felt like everything out of me had been drained and it would just be such a relief to die right then. It was the worst 3 hours of my life, trying not to kill myself because i knew it was the topamax doing this. Definitely scared off it now, do not want that to happen again

since beginning topamax I seem to be very emotional. Can cry at the drop of a hat and am still having headaches. No seizures to report unless they are taking place during the night but have had spells of double vision and forgetfulness. Dr. says to bear with it and it should level out. I have been extremely anxious for some reason and somewhat paranoid. Possibly due to the seizure disorder. I have an MRI and 48 hr. ambulatory EEG scheduled for next week not to mention very supportive supervisors at work that is a great asset. Just don't know where all the tears are coming from.

I've been on Topamax for about 6 months now (gradually starting out at twice a day (25 mg - 50 mg - 75 mg then finally ending at 100 mg twice a day). Lost 30 pounds and holding. At times very tired - GREAT not having anymore migraines - but depressed more often and edgy. Snapping at anyone at a drop of a hat! I sometimes take 100 mg a day instead of 200. If my stress level is very high and I do get a migraine regardless - I take my 5 mg of Zomig - it helps and I'm back on track again.
