Toprol-XL and lips

Numbness in lips and racing heart. Pulse went to 120 for a few house while sitting down at desk, never did this while on Micardis alone. Have been on Toprol 25mg for one week. Have mild hypertension numbers at 135/85 before Micardis and now BP ranges from 117/70-157/90 when fully anxious.

Anyone out there with chronic anxiety and on these meds?

It has worked fine for a few years. In the beginning I was taking a Generic only to suddenly realize it wasn't working and my skipping beats were as active as ever. Upon questioning the Pharmacist, she allowed that LEGALLY, the drug companies only had to put %80 of the active ingredient in the Generic drug! I was put on Toprol and everything was fine until one day my lips began to swell up especially in the morning and then a few weeks later I got a nasty migraine and I never get headaches. I suppose it could be anything but I have my suspicions. The next step is to contact my Cardiologist.

On 50 mg of Toprol; lips swell and burn; unable to drink hot liquids; then the entire skin on lip comes off; then the process starts over again. Also weight gain and swelling in legs.
