Toprol-XL and neck pain

I have been experiencing neck pain and something doctors look at me funny when i say "neck clicking sounds" for about 6 months. On 50 mgs 1x a day for 1 year. Also, no matter how much exercise and walking I do, I cannot lose ANY weight and I believe losing 10 lbs would help my BP. I have been going to the gym faithfully for 1 year since I started med and I walk 1 mile about 3 days a week in addition. Of course my sleep is horrible. At one point waking up every 1 to 2 hours, whats the point. When I expressed that I wanted to change meds to dr he said no, and gave me another one to take on top of toprol! Will dump him, that was my last visit to him. Please tell me if anyone has bad neck sounds and pain.

I starting taking toprol xl 25 mg in Feb 2007. My blood pressure was high because I was experiencing dizziness from a neck injury. I noticed right away muscle weakness around my knees but I thought it was because of my neck and the dizziness. I thought that I was locking my knees more because of afraid of falling. And increased dizziness. But again I assumed it was still from my neck. My neck pain got better but then the muscle weakness got so bad I bought a cane to walk around at work with. One week ago a finally begged the Doc to take me off this medication. I took 1/2 pill for 3 days and then went completely off. I have not started having hot flashes yet, but with the withdrawal I have had a hot flash. My muscle weakness in my legs is better, but not gone. I am still trying to find out how long it will take to get this awful drug out of my system. The doc was convinced it was the drug, and I am scheduled for more tests.

31 years old I started taking Toprol XL 25 for palpitations then switch to 12.5 due to drop of pressure. I vet been in cloud 9 since no feeling what so ever sad,depress,week tremors,dizzy,Gas BLOATING no appetite .I was loosing aprx 5lbs a week cold hands and feet, bruised feeling in chest severe neck pain. Sinus pain and pressure.I was running to the ER thinking I was going crazy

I was already on Cardizem and Enalapril and 2 mos. ago I went on Toprol 25 mg. which I take 1/2 of everyday. Now I am experiencing hearing problems as if I'm in a tunnel during the daytime until the med. wears off some at night. Is anyone else experiencing hearing problems from Toprol? I'm also experiencing shortness of breath, sleeplessness, and severe neck pain. I know 12.50 is a very small dose, but I feel these problems are a direct result of the Toprol.

Achy joint pain increasing the pain in my wrists, hands and feet. Ache in big toe does resemble gout. Cervical neck pain and hip joint pain come and go, but the pain in my wrists, and feet remain constant. Lower back muscle pain and deep muscle pain on my right chest area. Some loss of short term memory and confusion in daily routines that did not exist before. The severe anxiety when missing a dose is very disturbing and that is exactly what happens to me and I don't want to be "addicted" to a drug. My depression (which was under control for thirty years) has now returned. If this is the price I have to pay just to lower my BP for a bit, than NO THANKS. I am on 50 mgs of Toprol and I want my doctor to decrease my dose.
